Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sabrent SBT-EKU25 Ultra Slim USB 2.0 2.5-inch IDE/PATA Hard Drive Enclosure (Black)Customer Review: As Advertised Summary: 5 Stars
When this enclosure arrived, I was a bit concerned. While it was clear from the outset that there was no active cooling system, the enclosure also lacked even the most rudimentary venting system. However, I never experienced any sort of heat problem when using this enclosure to salvage data from nearly dead laptop drives. I'm not sure I'd advise it for long-term use, but it's great as a tech-support tool for saving old files from beat up old computers.

got this for my dell laptop when the lcd screen got damaged after a fall and i needed access to my tax files. great buy and was great help when there was just one week to file taxes. there were a few pins (4) lacking than my laptop hard drive but worked just fine. comes with usb cable. i was able to copy the files i needed. i am not an it person but now i know about pata and sata and all that stuff! guess this is what you call learning from adversity!
Customer Review: Best bang for the buck! Summary: 5 Stars
The product does exactly what it is supposed to do! It is the easiest/quickest way to connect your laptop (2.5" IDE) hard drive to any computer that has a USB (works with USB1.1 and USB2.0) port. It even comes with a CD that contains driver for Windows 98.
The reason I bought this - my laptop started having video card problems within the warranty period and before I shipped the laptop off to the manufacturer I wanted to backup my data.
Customer Review: What an item Summary: 5 Stars
I'm over 65 so I really appreciate the ease and simpleness of this case. It worked exactly as specified. There seems to be nothing that I could do wrong. Just plug in the drive and close the enclosure. I wish I had known of these years ago. The price was unbelievable. I now have my old computer back + my new computer. The quality is way too good for the price. Thanks!
Customer Review: Data recovery from dying laptop harddrive Summary: 5 Stars
I had a laptop harddrive that was dying - it was so bad that the system would no longer boot into Windows XP. I had files on the system that I wanted to recover so I decided to purchase this device.
The harddrive fit perfectly and I was able to mount the drive on another system running Windows Vista - I was then able to recover the data.
