Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Razer Lycosa Programmable Backlit Gaming Keyboard

Customer Review: Great kyeboard
Summary: 5 Stars

I love standard key layouts and i wanted a back lit keyboard so this one was perfect. You can bind macros to EVERY key and switch between 10 profiles. You can bind an .exe to every profile so once that programs executed it switches to that profile. There's a "gaming mode" that disables the windows key (and maybe alt+tab) so your game wont accidentally be interrupted by accidental key press. Back lights look great, keyboard feels nice and the keys press nice. I have had a few incidents where im walking around a game environment and all the sudden my guy stops walking, well if i ever so slightly let up on the key (even though its still pressed down) it will quit transmitting signal the key is pressed. Also i and many other people have had some trouble with the touch pad and sometimes my keyboard will just go completely wonky and hardly work. I just simply unplugged and plugged it back in and it works perfect again. These are minor annoyances but nothing to really get fired up about. Its a very clean and sleek looking keyboard, i love it. Plus.... VERY light weight and thin.

Customer Review: bought it in 2008
Summary: 5 Stars

Loved the look and function of the keyboard, the back light is just right, able to see the keys during the day with the room lights on and at night when I spend hours at the keyboard, no problems with it whatsoever. Only dislike or negative comment would be that the rubber coating on the keys, from body oil or just friction contact has worn through, first the space bar where my thumb hits it, then the N key and now coming up is the M key and some of the others are showing wear, I wonder if the Mirror Lycosa would show less wear on the keys, I have just asked Razer about it. The keyboard continues to work like a charm and I would hate to give it up, so I guess that I should shut up and buy a new one after 2 years of use, I did ask if Razer would be able to supply replacement keys as they just pop off, no answer yet. Seems to me the old rule of thumb for keyboard replacement was once a year, This one is in its 3rd year and I spend 6 to 8 hours a day at this keyboard. Many good comments on the look of the keyboard, glad that I bought it

Customer Review: What is with the poor reviews? Bunch of dummies
Summary: 5 Stars

Too many non-five star reviews here. The keys are extra grippy with a rubber like coding. They don't protrude as high and separate as cheap keyboards. The back light is very bright anyone who says its not bright enough needs to get their blinding eyes checked out. The keyboard plugs into audio ports for better headsets.

The usb port on the keyboard is irrelevant. No gamer should be plugging their mouse into the keyboard! Directly into the back of the PC only thx

Regardless of it being USB 1 or 2.0. This keyboard is better (IMO) and sleeker (no argument) then the newer more expensive Razer model. The touch pad on the top right is a lot like the PlayStation 3 system touch buttons. My only complaint is on vista-64 you need to fiddle with settings to make it work correctly for volume controls, and next track if your using something other then itunes or windows media player.

Great amazing keyboard. Had it for a month now No regrets. Razer needs less haters when they make good products.

Customer Review: I should've bought this in the first place
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all, don't let those low star reviews prevent you from buying this awesome keyboard. Only a certain batches(infective units are: MT07, MT801, MT802, MT803) of this keyboard are plagued with problems. Newer production of the keyboard have no problems whatsoever. I regret not buying this in the first place after reading all the bad reviews here. I bought Logitech G110, then the Saitek Eclipse III, and let me tell you, non of these huge keyboards feel as good and comfortable as this good-sized Razer Lycosa. 75$ Eclipse III cannot come close to the quality of this product. I've send those 2 keyboards back to amazon with the shipping and restocking fees. I should've gone with this and not having to spend 40$ to send them back. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this keyboard, the keys on this keyboard is made of quality rubber unlike a small and cheap plastic logitech keys. Touchpad is also very responsive and useful for changing or pausing a song while you're in-game.

Customer Review: Great Keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

The rubber coating on the keys really gives the keyboard a nice feel. I do not really use any of the programming features (macros and such) but I have fooled around with them and the drivers seem to be in good working order and easy to use. The backlit keyboard looks amazing but as was said in other reviews, when the lights are off you can hardly see the letters on the keys but hey, I paid for a backlit keyboard and I use the backlight! other thoughts: Some complain about the finger prints left on the glossy case of the keyboard-- this doesnt really bother me becuase after all its a keyboard and fingers touch it all the time! My wrist was sore the first time I used it playning an FPS but this is normal for me when switching to a new keyboard. The touch panel controls are also really cool. I would recommend this keyboard to other gamers for sure.
