Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Razer Pro Click v1.6--1600 dpi Mouse for Mac/PCCustomer Review: Advice for Macs: Summary: 4 Stars
OK, so some of the Razer mouses get better reviews, but let's face it, this one looks better with your iMac.
If you don't need 57 buttons or whatever this has, then DON'T install the drivers!!!!!
The drivers are horrible and convoluted, and will only make it impossible to get settings to a usable level....and I honestly mean impossible. I worked for an hour trying to get it right, and wound up having to use Desinstaller (an app that removes stubborn drivers, etc. like this) to get it out of my system.
If you only use left-click, right-click, and scroll wheel, then you'll love this mouse. I do miss scrolling sideways like Apple's Mighty Mouse does, but this is far more responsive, and you will probably like it a lot.
If you want 18 buttons, you may want to find another gaming mouse with better drivers.
Customer Review: Much better than the Apple Mighty Mouse Summary: 4 Stars
I needed to replace my Apple Mighty Mouse because it kept sticking, and the roller ball had many intermittent problems. I researched what the best replacement would be on a mac. Hands down everyone seemed to recommend the Razer v1.6. I received mine yesterday, plugged it in, downloaded the latest driver from Razer and it works like a charm. I was able to program the buttons to do everything the Mighty Mouse did and more. I like the lights, I like the way it feels, and I like the way it performs. I most likely will replace all of my mice with this one after testing it out more!
Customer Review: Good Mouse! Summary: 4 Stars
This is a really nice mouse. I have tried many different mice over the years and this one has a great feel. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Device itself a 4. Drivers a 1 (for Mac). Summary: 3 Stars
First off, I really do like using this mouse. I use this for my laptop, and a Copperhead for my desktop.
The mouse itself is quite nice. The build quality is better than most mice I have used. I like large buttons, and the side button placements works out well for me. When my wrist hurts, I can rotate my hand to right and hold it more like a gun. Good responsiveness.
The driver however is utter trash. Plan to spend another $20 for a 3rd party driver on a Mac (assuming you're using a Mac... if you're not, well, I've not used this on my windows machine, so this doesn't apply).
--Assigning keys to buttons is something you have to work around. It always wants to assign a key up... often whether or not you actually DO a key up. (And, yes, it's funny to be holding a key down with one hand... moving to the OK button with the trackad with the other to not use the key up...) Sometimes, it just feels a key up is necessary.
--On my MBP, it gets even worse. Mouse movement slows to a crawl even on the highest setting. It does not over ride the built in driver either... so anytime you go to the built in driver, it will over ride your razer driver. Weird.
For something actually advertised to mac users [...] that's utterly pathetic imo.
Customer Review: Good mouse, just not for me. Summary: 3 Stars
The ProSolutions Mouse works great with the ProPad from Razor, very slick (see my review of the pad). I have large hands and the ergonomics just aren't for me. My biggest complaint are with the side buttons. They sit too far back, they are hard to find, and have plastic locaters that very uncomfortable to push. It's a shame, it looks great with the ProPad. But I'm giving Razor one more chance, I pre-ordered a DeathAdder mouse. It sits a lot higher than the ProSolutions and the side buttons are...well regular buttons. If it doesn't work out, I've ordered teflon feet for my Logitch MX510 and put the Razor mice on eBay.
As far as everything else, the mouse does what it promises, it's a quality made product, it's just not for me.
