Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Razer Lachesis 4000 dpi Laser Gaming Mous--Banshee Blue

Customer Review: Great mouse for game and normal use.
Summary: 5 Stars

I own a copperhead, and I believe this mouse is actually more natural for me than the Copperhead. Being a amphidestrious mouse, there are two buttons that will be harder to reach. For righty, it's the ride side buttons. However, this is not an issue for me and I don't think it will be fore most folks. I do love the dpi changing buttons located below the mouse wheel. On the Copperhead, I had to adjust dpi using the right side buttons, which is also very hard to reach.

The overall quality is better than Copperhead. I love the one piece design and the rubberized surface.

Unlike most reviewers, I don't have any driver issues even before updating the firmware. This is a mouse I can live with even if I don't play game.

Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 2 Stars

Well, when I first got my Lachesis everything seemed fine. I started to notice the cursor would jump randomly. Finally 3 weeks later, Razer released the new firmware. It sorta fixed the jumping, but the mouse still seems messed up. When I restart my computer the mouse is always off and I have to unplug it and plug it in again. Also, the driver has lots of errors and will cause several access violations crashing your computer. I am running Windows XP MediaCenter and While I had the driver installed I would get blue screened every 15 mintues. Uninstalled the driver and bam no more violations or blue screens. If you want a stable product get something from Ideazon or Logitech. The only thing I really like about this product is the feel, it fits my hand much better then any other mouse I have ever used.

Customer Review: wouldn't recommend
Summary: 1 Stars

I've been using this mouse since Christmas and I must say I'm quite disappointed. The mouse tracking is glitchy.. and by that, I mean, sometimes it will get stuck and won't go in the direction you want it to go, other times I've seen it go the opposite why I want it to go.. a tap on it's back and it's back in business though..

another issue which is absolutely not tolarable in my opinion.. sometimes it doesn't start up with windows, so I have to get down under my desk, unplug it and plug it back in.. quite the pain.. A friend of mine had the exact same issue (he had two on two different computers) so I'm certain it's a manufacturers defect.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. It's too expensive and for that price, it should be rock solid. I went back to my dell supplied mouse for gaming until I decide to try my luck on another brand.

Customer Review: Great buy
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a little worried about buying an expensive mouse like this, that it wouldn't be worth it or that'd it have some flaws no one was mentioning. Well, it was worth it, and there are no 'hidden' flaws that I've come across. The software it comes with is really cool and it's completely customizable with profiles and what buttons for what games. It takes a little while to get use it to, but if you can rest your hand on it, rather than gripping it, it works like a charm. I also purchased the Razor Taranchula, which is the keyboard equivilant, and I've seriously up'd my game in FPS(Wolfenstein ET) and WoW. XD

Customer Review: Mouse Skips software buggy
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this mouse and tried to get it to work for 2 weeks, then finally had to return it. I also purchased the Razer official Exactmat mousepad to make sure there were no issues with the surface area.

The Lachesis mouse has known issues on the Razer website. I went there looking for a fix. Razer has a "beta" patch for the mouse skip issues but you have to install the patch "at your own risk."

Customer support is only by email and not very good or friendly or even quick. There is no phone number to call them.

I updated all the software and it was still buggy. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it skipped, sometimes it just completely stopped working.

Ergonomics : not good

I went out to the web and now see that this mouse has bad reviews on other websites most notably because of the bad ergonomics.
The Shape of the mouse makes it uncomfortable after just a short time using it for regular functions or games.
