Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Razer Copperhead Tempest Blue 2000 Dpi Mouse with built-in MemoryCustomer Review: Flimsy? what are these people talking about! Summary: 5 StarsMust be the competition worried about this mouse taking all their buisness!
Whoever said this is flimsy, must have been mistaken. This mouse is very solid, it is incredibly sensitive, and comfortable! I am upgrading this from a diamond back, which is a much smaller thinner mouse, this is much more comfortable, with an arch for my hand to rest on. I am totally in love with this mouse, it makes me sooooooo happy.
Its beautiful, very sensitive, has lots of configurable buttons, and its got the backing of Razer, which is just a fantastic company to begin with.
If you have the cash to drop on it I highly recomend it.
Customer Review: Nice Mouse but Terrible Support Summary: 4 StarsI was a nice looking mouse and had good reviews. I bought it in the hope that the drivers would not conflict with other programs on my computer as do some drivers and it is hyped to work plugged into any machine without installing special drivers. This is true. But it is necessary to install them to adjust the default settings on the mouse.
Neat blue racing stripes. It took a little getting used to holding it with thumb and ring figer tips instead of my palm like some other mice. Very responsive. I even bought the special Mantis matts for it. It was very satisfactory playing MMOs on my Falcon MachV. The buttons were somewhat difficult to use on the right side of the mouse and the double-click adjustment never seemed to work well (either too fast or too slow) and had to be adjusted to slow to work most of the time (at least for me). This was annoying but I was getting used to it.
The problems started when I wanted some support. The mouse worked well until I tried to update the drivers and firmware. I followed the directions but after installing the updated drivers in XP and updateing the firmware on the mouse it stopped working on my computer. The configurator program would not any longer recognize the mouse and the cursor would not move. Lights up but no cursor movement. Somehow my copy of XP was altered while updating the mouse software and this mouse will no longer work on my machine. This mouse lights up and is recognized and the cursor works on our other computers. Just not mine.
Support was first via computer generated "read our knowledge base and uninstall/reinstall" as one would expect. After a week of emails back and forth I get a number and actually talk to a person who supposidly writes everything down and passes your case to "tier 2." All of the emails up to this point obviously generated by computer in English as a second language vocabulary. This was followed by an email advising me to reinstall Windows XP. Dig this:
-----Hi,
Thank you for reverting back. You have mention to our phone support agent that the mouse works fine on another machine. You select automatic install when prompted for your Freescale driver and Windows installed a copy which is now causing your Configurator not to recognize the mouse.
All solutions which we have recommended to you do not work on your machine.
We normally would not recommend that you install a fresh copy of Windows on your machine but at this juncture, we would highly recommend that you do so and install the mouse drivers again.------
Apparently it's not their problem, notice how it's Windows that screwed up. Incidently, no solutions ever offered but "please to reinstall" or 'please to try another USB port." No joy. The lady who I actually talked to only took information but provided no tech support.
Sorry but I'm a busy practicing surgeon who uses the computer for both business and pleasure. I've no intention of reinstalling windows on this machine in order to use a $70 hunk of plastic.
Microsoft support is actually better in my experience and this doesn't say much for Razer support.
I'm going back to logitech. I don't know that their support is better but at least I haven't had any real problems with the logitech mice in the past. I ordered a G5 and the Razer went in a drawer. Good luck if you buy it. The mouse itself was just Ok. Not just nice.
Oh, and I guess I'm missing why it is the blue one costs more then the green or the red one? They all have built in memories. I thought they were the same mechanically and electronically.

Customer Review: This...is such a sexy mouse... Summary: 5 StarsI've fallen in love with this mouth and I thank my friend for recommending this to me. Choosing the sensitivity of your mouse with the convenient side buttons and the little button at the bottom. And it has such an amazing grip with LED lights.
The first time I jumped into Half Life 2: Death Match. I gunned down 2 people in a few minutes. It could just be a HUGE coincidence. But I actually had a pretty high kill count at the end of that round for someone just starting HL2 DeathMatch (i think it was around the 19-20's)
My only complaint was upgrading the software/firmware drivers for it. If you don't get it right the first time the Razer program doesn't recognize the mouse at all and you can't change the sensitivity settings to your liking. But overall this is a damned good mouse and i highly suggest this to any serious gamer who enjoy's their FPS!
Customer Review: ups and downs Summary: 3 Starsalthough there are qualities to this mouse that have made it hard for me to play using any other. the biggest draw back is how the settings seem to change mid game. in the midst of extreme play suddenly, the mouse becomes so sensitive it is unusable.i have downloaded drivers to supposedly fix it from their site. but suprise, windows doesnt recognize them and wont open them. it comes with no instructions and the support team are a bunch of knuckle draggers when it comes to help. there are qualities that make this mouse great its just you cant count on it to be consistant.
Customer Review: Copperhead Sucks! Summary: 1 StarsI completely agree. This mouse sucks! I got the Copperhead from my brother and was excited to try it out after hearing the reviews as a Top Gaming Mouse in comparison to the Logitech G5 - plus it's backed with the Razer reputation. I was surprised to find it flimsily constructed (the edges of the plastic isn't completely in-line at its base. I can feel the uneven edge of the plastic at the butt - think scraping) and it's super lightweight! The contour of the curve isn't comfortable and it's slim so even the smallest hands can't "rest" on it. The wheel is awkward and it doesn't glide smoothly (for smaller hands, you have to reach for the wheel). I honestly can't imagine how they could sell this as a premium product. Aside from the software, it feels more like a stock mouse you get with your computer but with lights.
