Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Razer BattleLight for Razer Tarantula Gaming KeyboardCustomer Review: Mostly For Aesthetic Purposes... Summary: 2 Stars
Got this a year or 2 years ago. Like most of what the other reviewers said the coverage of the light illuminating the keys are only limited and mainly only illuminates the center portion. Maybe Razer should have designed a WIDE ANGLE light then this would have probably been more useful. Or maybe they could have made the lamplight longer but of course this would only magnify its presence as an unnecessary CLUTTER. This is the only keyboard I know that has this light attachment. A for originality, but D for functionality. It looks rather dumb and primitive since if its real purpose was to make it easier to see the keys then I suggest that you buy an illuminated keyboard like the Saitek II Eclipse or the Logitech G19(if you can afford it!). Built in keyboard lights seem more logical and leaves the keyboard CLUTTER-FREE...
Customer Review: Think long and hard before buying... Summary: 2 Stars
I really thought the light was going to be cool since I prefer to game in the dark. When I first plugged the light in and turned it on, I was thinking that I wasted my money as it only illuminated a small part of the keyboard and was really distracting given the design.
My main complaint is now that I have had this light for a month or so, the switch no longer operates. If I push in the button, it will illuminate, but will not stay on when released.
Buyer beware on this one, in my humble opinion. Your mileage may vary.
Customer Review: Cheap piece of plastic Summary: 1 Stars
I was excited when the Battlelight was finally released for sale. Razer has been promising its release for over a year now. So, I would have thought, that during all the extra time in R&D that they had to perfect it, that Razer would have made the Battlelight a super product like the rest of Razer's product line. Boy was I wrong, and disappointed. I ordered my Battlelight through Amazon and within 24 hours the cheep piece of plastic broke at the neck part where the light adjusts up and down. I have not sent it back since it was so cheap, and really do not want another one, so I am using the broken one with electrical tape holding it together.
Pros: Adds a "light" and a piece of plastic to go into the Tarantula Battle dock
Cons: Cheap Construction
Poor Lighting - only illuminates middle keys
Minimal Flexibility - breaks easy
Can't move it to left or right....just up and down (would be nice to turn it to light the
AWSD keys for gaming which are all on left side NOT the middle of keyboard)
Overpriced for poor craftsmanship and quality
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A DESK LAMP WITH A BLUE LIGHT BULB!!!!
Customer Review: Battle light review Summary: 1 Stars
The battle light fails. It dosent illuminate all of the keyboard, and the parts that it does illuminate you cant really see anyways. The keys on my Tarantula have a bit of a glossy finish to them, and when you combine that with white letting on the keys, the bright blue LED lights just wash everything out. So you are about as well off just typing in the dark.
The only good thing about this light is its really unique. If you just have to have a swank LED light hanging off your keyboard, this is the light for you. Just dont expect too much funtionality.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money. Summary: 1 Stars
There really is no reason to buy this. It only lights the middle of the keyboard, it glares (so you can't see what your typing anyway, and its distracting while gaming. If you want a lit up keyboard get one with illuminated keys. This is just eye candy, to make you throw away $20.
