I often use my computer with the room lights off. This little light helps me out a lot as my monitors poorly cast light on my keyboard.
If your keyboard is close to your monitors you probably won't need this lamp. It doesn't provide full keyboard illumination unless you drill some holes in it. But if you're like me and have your monitors wall-mounted this is a nice gadget to have.
