This wall mount is heavy duty. The base is screwed to my wall with 6 lag bolts into 3 studs. The holes on the base plate are 32 inches apart at the widest. After attaching the brackets to the TV, my wife and I had no trouble hanging a 46 inch TV. Before tightening lock screws on the brackets I can easily slide the TV for close to a foot to center it on the wall. The base plate is so firmly attached to the wall I wouldn't hesitate to move the TV to an extreme left or right position. Amazon should get the correct picture of the mount though. It is heavier duty than what is pictured.
