I purchased this item to use with my Sony HDR-SR1 camcorder. It covers it perfectly and has saved it from certain death several times already in rainy and snowy weather. Basically, it has enabled me to be able to shoot in weather that I normally wouldn't be able to, but may try to anyway. It has protected the camera from big plops of water and snow falling from trees that would have destroyed the camera without it. It is very well made and well worth the price. It also still allows you to mount your camera to a tripod, and can double as a sun shade in the summer. This is a must have IMO. Just be sure it is big enough for the camera intended for it's use. There are bigger ones available as well.
