I was trying to reduce clutter while maintaining decent sound quality, these speakers worked great. One of the reviews I read before buying mentioned using the screws to push out the grill, this was very helpful. Installation was in a built in entertainment cabinet with easy access for wiring which made installation a snap.
I use them for tv and music and with the inexpensive surround sound system with a small sub they sound great considering the price and the system.

Don't spend thousands of dollars building out your surround & surround back channels - these speakers get the job done! Installation is a snap - I had four speakers installed in the back of my living room in less than an hour. Sound is phenomenal - I just can't see paying hundreds of dollars PER SPEAKER when you can get this great-sounding pair @ such a low price. Installed easily enough after I figured out that I have drywall over lath and plaster in my ceiling. They sound great. I have 2 pair, one in the ceiling, one as my front channel. Not enough low frequency to give me the bass I think I need, but I bought a couple of CSW100's to go with, so I don't care. The sound is wonderful, the price was right, and the install was really easy. I really dig on the tweeters I can aim too.Customer Review: improved my setup and easy to install

First, they were very easy to install. Second, I enjoy good quality sound, but I'm also not dumb enough to take out a second mortgage to get it. They are a great compromise for someone on a budget, yet wants something more than the cheap speakers can offer. They are much better than what I had.
I like them so much, I'm thinking about installing in-wall speakers for the front and center too.

These are greats speakers for the price, much better bass than the 6" pair. I built my own speaker boxes to sit on top of these speakers in the ceiling, about 16" square, made of 1/2" MDF, and lined with 1" high-density foam. Without such a box, much of the sound will be lost in the ceiling cavity. You may not need to do this if you're installing in a residential location in an insulated cavity with wood studs.
