This scanner works like scanners costing 10 -20x the price. I am impressed. However the software is not easy to figure out. Has so many options you mistakenly click the wrong button and jam the computer. It's best to use the simple scan option and clean and color correct the image with Photoshop or some other program. Out of the box the 7300 does just what it should do. I am using it with my Corel photo software because that's what I'm used to. I am scanning slides from 1960 - 1965 at present and they look wonderful. I will try the supplied software later but for now the quick setup is zipping along and doing everything I need for clean, clear pictures.Customer Review: Good Value

Found this to be a good value for the money. Right outta the box I got great scans.
Using it on a G5 Mac running Leopard. Software was installed quickly and works beautifully.
I have recommended this scanner to several other people as they also use Macs.
To bad it doesn't have a batch attachment.

Mechanically it's simple to use. The software is something else however. After installing the software, one has to fine tune it to give optimal results. This isn't a bad thing just tedious, it's got a lot of filters to turn on or off. The results are well worth the tuneing.Customer Review: Excellent machine

It is easy to use - especially with film strips - and the scanning software is excellent. Cropping and placing the scan area is simple and easy. Slides snap into position easily, accurately and firmly. It is much easier to use than using adapters on most flat bed scanners.
