Customer Review: 35mm Slide to Digital Conversion
Summary: 5 Stars

The device was very easy to set up and intall within my Vista operating system. I would refer to this as a midrange device for this specific digital conversion function. The product is very easy to use though a bit time consuming, though this was to be expected. The product comes with both a slide cartrige and a film cartridge in which to place your original media. I would suggest that having an extra slide cartridge would be very convenient as you could then preload a second tray while scanning with the first. While it is easy enough to add & remove the slides, having the second tray would help speed the process for a very low cost.

I would highly recommend the product (hardware) though the software is a bit challenging to use out of the box. The trick, however, is to scan first, then take your time modifying, adjusting, cropping, etc. later in the process after you have scanned a few hundred slides (as most of us have who buy a product like this).

Customer Review: Solid Performance and a Super price
Summary: 5 Stars

This scanner fits my needs for high quality negative scanning at a great price. My Epson flatbed has a adapter but the quality is lacking at best.
The software included does the job. The only wish I would make be a book manual instead of just getting needed info off the Help section in the software. The negative holder is good. No problem loading software on my XP computer. High quality scans take time and I have two large binders of negatives from many years, so I will be scanning for some time. Scanning a photo on the flatbed and the same negative resulted in a tie or maybe a slight edge to the film scanner. The printed image of the negative on photo paper was equal to the Kodak processed print. I have not used any slides so I cannot comment how they fare. I would recommend this scanner to anyone who wants great scans at a super price.

Customer Review: Very impressive scaner
Summary: 5 Stars

This scanner is a wonderful toy. Quality of scans exceeded my expectations. Considering that my slides are of very poor quality the results I get are amazing. Your own results will depend on how well you master the software which is very powerful but not completely user friendly. I scan 4 times at resolution 7200 and use automated Dust and Scratch Removing utility which is rather easy to learn how to use. Scanning of one slide at this resolution may take up to 10 min but it worth the effort. I do preliminary trials at low resolution to accelerate the process. Main issue I have with the software - resetting parameters. Manual instructs to press ALT-"Reset All" button. Only I wish there was one there. I guess you need to pay extra to make this button visible. Overall - great scanner for the price of a digital camera.

Customer Review: Not only Mac but Windows to...
Summary: 5 Stars

The "Silverfast SE plus Mac Os" inference is very misleading in the title of this scanner. After researching the model no. and checking on the Plustek Website; I rolled the dice and bought this scanner for use on a Windows Vista computer.
As I suspected; the Mac name in the title is misleading... The scanner comes with two disks. One with the scanner drivers and basic scanning software... The other with the SilverFast SE Plus... BOTH for Mac and WINDOWS... So if you are a Windows Vista, XP or 2000 user; fear not. It is supported...
The installation was straight forward. There is a mild learning curve in the use of the software. However, I haven't yet come up to full speed on using it. My initial scans have been quite good... Stay tuned...

Customer Review: Easy! Even a caveman can do it....
Summary: 5 Stars

I Received the Plustek OpticFilm 7300 35mm film scanner a few days after it was ordered for me as a birthday gift; it arrived at my home in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains in mint condition. It took me longer to find the instructions than it took to hook it up. I followed the six steps, loaded a 35mm color transparency (slide) pushed the IntelliScan button and saved it to a folder I'd built for copies. The first trial scan was a bit dark, so I used the on-screen adjustments and played for a couple of hours. One thing I should have purchased at the same time was a bulb/brush to clean the film. Some of my slides are 45 years old and are a tad dusty. Things tend to get that way in a den.
