Customer Review: Slide scanner
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very pleased with this product. It has done what was promised. When I tried to load the programs to my computer it would not read the disk. I went to the company web site and to support. This was on a Friday Evening. I received an email almost immediatly that said I would receive a call before the end of the next business day. I thought that meant I would not hear anything untill Monday. Well about an hour and a half later tech support called and walked me through downloading what I needed from the internet and stayed on the phone with me untill I had scanned a couple of slides to make sure that everything worked. I was very impressed with the service and the quality of the scanner.

This is a very easy to install, easy to use device that worked well for me. The quality of the scans is very good and most often I do not even use the highest quality setting. I transferred all of my family slides from the 60's and placed them on DVD. The software provided is decent. I prefer the "quick scan" feature when doing bulk transfer. You will have to make occassional adjustments to the autocrop if your slides have varying light conditions, but no sweat. I then discovered that this device is like a darkroom in a box - when I started transferring negatives. All in all a really good investment for me. Works well with my XP - x64 O/S.

Customer Review: I was very pleasantly surprised1

I had thought that these old slides my dad had taken during his camera buff days were pretty much useless unless I wanted to display them with a projector...which I didn't want to do. But I saw this product and read a few comments from other purchasers and decided to give it a try.
I had a little trouble getting started (my fault) but have shared many of these pictures since then with friends and family.
Only negative aspect that I see is that after each slide I save to Adobe Photoshop there is a 30-45 second delay before I can scan another one. This may be my fault...but it is worth the wait.

Customer Review: great little scanner

Just got my plustek 7200. The software loaded just fine.I ran about 30 slides and it went fast. The thing that took the longest was looking at the old pictures I haven't seen in years. The one draw back is you only scan 1 slide at a time. The bad reviews must have been people that have an I.T. person in there back pocket to solve there problems and do everything for them. Like other people have said you don't have to scan at the highest resolution, few people are going to print posters. For home use and to bring back memories with out taking up counter space (small foot print) this unit is just great!

Customer Review: Fantastic Unit!

Before buying the Plustek Opticfilm 7200, I did tons of research on both flatbed and dedicated slide scanners. After reading hundreds of reviews all I can say is that I was confused whether to go with a Canon flatbed or take a chance on the Plustek.

Well, I took the plunge and bought the 7200. I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION. I love it and for the price, you can't go wrong.

I had it set up and running in less than 5 minutes scanning old musty slides at 3600 dpi ... could go higher but getting brilliant scans with 3600 and, it's quick.

Go for it.
