Customer Review: Very Happy
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the VuPoint FS-C1-VP film and slide converter through Amazon about a month ago and had to return it because it simply was a piece of junk. Amazon was great at refunding my money ($106) in a very short period of time also paid shipping and handling. I then purchased a Plustek OpticFilm 7200 from Amazon for approx $191.00 and am very happy with the results. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and this was not a problem. I have converted 35 year old slides with no problem, it removes scratches, dust very well, I'm sure in the hands of a more qualified photographer it would perform even better, but I am happy. I have converted about 400 slides to date with an couple of hundred to go and then on to the wifes many negatives. I did a trial run on a few negatives and it looks very promising. Bottom line is don't waste your money and time on the VuPoint get the Plustek OpticFilm 7200.

Customer Review: Excellent Slide Scanner!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had several hundred slides to scan, and started my project by purchasing an Epson flatbed scanner.....big mistake. I returned the Epson scanner, and purchased the Plustek 7200 scanner. Software installation was fairly easy, and the instructions that came with the unit were easy to follow. I was able to use the quickscan mode, and the results were fantastic. I tweaked the settings a little, and found that the 1200 dpi mode was best for me.

This scanner has two plastic holders that fit four slides each. The slides fit securely into the holders - feeding each slide holder into the scanner was a snap. If you have a large number of slides to scan - this is the scanner for you. Compared to a traditional flatbed scanner, the Plustek 7200 makes your workflow much easier. Highly recommended!

Customer Review: Save your slides!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this scanner to convert 400 color slides taken by my grandfather during his time abroad during the Korean War era.

The slide holder allows you to easily move through scanning 4 slides in a row. The computer software included with the scanner is very user friendly. And the auto-correct feature of that software, with a little practices, yields photos that are almost perfect - without any scratches or blips from the original slide.

Each slide, with computer processing (and resoluion desired), takes approximately 60-90 seconds. Several resolution settings available. Was able to print 1 slide as an 8x10 photograph without any indication that the original was a slide.

Highly recommend this scanner for digitalizational of all your slide photographs.

Customer Review: good tech support
Summary: 5 Stars

I just purchased a model 7200 and am very pleased with it. When it arrived on a Friday I started installation late that afternoon. The CD ROM that came with the product wopuld not load. I went on line to the Plustek web site and contacted tech support. I received a message back that I would be contacted before the end of the next business day. I thought that that meant it would be Monday before I heard back from them. However about 7 PM I received a call from their tech support dept. They guided me through downloading the programs I needed from their web site even waiting while I got on line. The tech rep was very patient and made sure I understood everything I needed to do. He even stayed on the phone till I had scanned a slide sucessfully. Best Tech support I have ever had.

Customer Review: A very good slide scanner
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the Plustek scanner as a tool to finish up transferring 35MM slides to a digital form. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the digital picture output done as a high quality TIF. The process does take a little time for each scan, but the software that comes with the scanner allows you to scan negatives in addition to adjusting color on the slides based on the kind of picture being scanned. It is very flexible and works very well in conjunction with Photoshop 6.0. Learning curve was short for me. I had a basic grasp of what the product could do and how to setup the software to deliver the high qulaity slides I wanted for this project within about three scan cycles. The users guide is a PDF on the software diskette.
