I'm really liking this version of the headset. I have a previous usb version (DSP-400) from about 2 years ago that is starting to show its age. I notice the framing of this version seems sturdier and the joints may be better designed.
The sound quality is quite good whether I've used the USB jack or plugged straight into audio ports. I use it with Vista's voice recognition and it does a great job.

I use it for Dragon Naturally speaking and Teamspeak 3 during online game play.
For DNS it was a vast improvement over the stock mic that came with the software.
For TS3, the sound quality is wonderful and so far everyone on the other end can hear me, crisp and clear.
I have only the DNS mic to compare it to so you may want to keep reading the reviews.

I bought this Plantronics headset for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. Even though this microphone is being advertised for a laptop it would easily just as well work for a desktop. I am currently dictating this review through the mic in a normal speaking tone and pace and it has no problems whatsoever picking up anything I say. I purchased this to replace the headphone/mic set that came with Dragon Speak 10, a speech recognition program. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this worked compared to the headphone/mic that came with the program, fewer errors and more comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a headset to work with this type of program.
