Customer Review: Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an excellent product if you are trying to save money. This is the previous model for the current avh-p4100dvd which features a 7" screen and some newer features, but the benefit of the 4000 is no motorized swinging doors. This radio is also limited in the preamp outpout department. Only one amp can be integrated based on my current understanding, the 4100 has corrected that problem.(You can only hook one set of RCA plugs for your amp with the 4000dvd. All in all an excellent product. When I installed this on my g35 bose sound system, it completely turned that factory system out just by adding this radio. Another big feature that is supposed to work is the charge function when you use the cdI200 pioneer plug that attaches to the back of radio. IPhone 3G and nano 4G work fine playing movies or music on the unit but no charging can be done with these newer versions. The 4100 and the ipod cable that goes with it will probaly accomplish that, though I am not certain. All in all this is a great headunit and I highly reccommend it for someone on a budget.

Customer Review: Awesome equipment!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This unit works as I expected. Excellent performance, the dvd player works as your home's equipment, you can manage the dvd menu, access all the dvd capabilities, etc. The ipod interface is awesome! You can see all the movies you have in the ipod, including an audio very close to surround sound. You can play all your playlists, albums, artist, etc., in short, you can drive your ipod from this unit in the same way as you drive the ipod directly.
Is very easy to install if you have all the adequate tools, so, I recommend to install it by an expertise technical.
There is a very tiny thing that you might not find in the product's general description: the video only play if you have the car parked, because you have to install a switch in the hand brake, but you can change the original switch and put it in an accessible place in order to enable and disable the video play.
The touch screen works very nice.
My advice: if you are looking an unit to drive your ipod, see all your videos, buy this unit. It has the best balance price-performance.

Customer Review: Can't be beat for the price.

Where to start? A name brand (and good one at that) in-dash dvd player for under $400? I had a factory radio in an '05 Pathfinder and was tired of trying to find FM transmitters for my ipod, so I bit the bullet and took a chance on this with not many reviews at the time I got it. Well i really lucked out. This thing is great. Its customizable to go with your vehicle's lighting, it integrates seamlessly with ipods(note: you can even watch youtube videos on it with an ipod touch or iphone), dvd's look and play well (note: as the guy above said you can get around the video lock out whilst driving. You don't need a professional to do it though, just dig around on google a bit. Of course I would never do this and don't recommend it. I just ran across it while learning how to install it on my own). You can hook it up to extra monitors, hook in other devices, use bluetooth, setallite, or HD radio if you get the adapters. If you're like me and you have a Garmin and thus don't need navigation built in this is the perfect head unit.

Customer Review: Very good value OEM replacement head unit
Summary: 5 Stars

recently, I decided to upgrade the OEM radio/cd in my 2007 honda pilot with pioneer avh-p4000dvd, with audiovox wireless back-up camera, pioneer HD radio and pioneer iPod cable add-ons. took me about 12 hours in 2 days to remove the existing head unit and install the new equipment. used metra wiring and antenna harnesses for quick connections, and metra installation kits to fit the head unit. thanks to smart ideas posted in google, the pioneer head unit can play dvd while driving or parked. picture quality, either for dvd movies or for back-up camera, is really good and the sound production for dvd movies, radio, cd, mp3/wma, iPod, usb, is much better. the head unit has additional 1-video out, 2-dual channel pre-amp/speaker out, and 1-a/v input. the outputs provide audio/video for additional monitor for rear passengers. the inputs provide connection for video game console, camera or tv tuner. overall, it's really good package and recommended for OEM upgraders. excellent car audio/video head unit. thanks pioneer!

Customer Review: Great for the price

I bought this about 1 month ago and installed it on my own. For the most part the install was really easy.. If you have a ford and are trying to do the steering wheel controls I advise against it. (its not the radio's fault tho).. The IPOD integration is AWESOME. It has a little wheel display on the touch screen and its really easy to pick your favorite songs. I am also VERY happy with the DVD player.. We did a little "doctoring" so we can watch DVD's while I'm driving (safely of course) and it has really made the long trips a lot more bearable.. My big thing now is listening to director commentaries on DVD (you dont really have to see the screen since people are mostly talking)... All in all for the price this cant be beat.. Pioneer has consistently good products and the fit and finish is first rate..
