Customer Review: TERRIBLE Customer Support!

The product I received was defective - plugged it in, didn't work. Before seeking a refund, I wanted to make sure that there wasn't more I could do. I mistakingly attempted to contact Pinnacle's customer support for assistance, who then tried to tell me that the broken remote was an issue I needed to take up with Microsoft, since it wasn't working with Media Center. when I assured them that it was in fact the remote that was broken, not my media center, they tried to have me set up the driver and program for the tv tuner card... that I didn't purchase.
Needless to say, I wound up returning the item for a full refund (Tech For Less is AWESOME for this) and will be purchasing a remote that will work and have better customer support!

TV on Windows Media Center on my Windows & 64-bit computer would not set up until I installed an infra red remote kit. So I bought this unit which got good reviews. Unfortunately it does not work properly with our Comcast digital converter box. When I press on either a 2, or 3 digit channel number it only recognizes the last digit. I called Hauppauge (now owns Pinnacle) and they admitted it does not work with Comcast units. I am really mad at Comcast. Before they made me use their digital converter box I was able to connect my TV tuner directly to the cable and program my computer to record TV. Now I have to pay a rental for the box, which converts their digital TV to analog TV and I can no longer do programmed recording of TV.Customer Review: Horrible Experience

Does not work in Vista MCE
STB Remote not recognized - when I get to this part of MCE Setup with this new remote... The unit stops accepting IR from STB Remote so MCE can recognize. This happens when I try to set up recognition from Sctratch. If I try to get it to recognize automatically - It DOES recognize one number and says it cannot recognize...DULL and OLD from this device - it simply does not work - I've searched up & down - no luck - and I am holding this device in hand and unable to use at all. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE... I ordered from AMAZON and so I cannot return - PAY MORE $$$???? I'm SPENT. DONT WASTE UR TIME WITH THIS.

According to the Pinnacle Remote Kit product description on their website, "all Windows Vista certified TV tuners" are supported. However, I cannot hook it up my satellite box - Vista gives an error "IR Hardware Not Found".
Called Pinnacle support and they told me that the Remote Kit is not supported for use with any non-Pinnacle tuners (I have a Hauppauge tuner).
So, they basically lied and I wasted my money.

i bought this item, all my research did not show that it was not compatable with any other brand of video card. It never worked for me, and tech support is more than happy to tell you rather than putting that information on the box or on any other literature!
