The only issue I had was with trying to play divx files using an HDMI cable to my LCD TV. After a little googling I read that HDMI doesn't like the compression that goes on with formats like divx so I ordered some high-quality component cables which fixed my issue. I LOVE this DVD player! The USB functionality was a GREAT idea! I'm planning to get a big external USB hard drive and load it with movies. A second USB port in the back would be a good idea for long term attachments like external drives. I bet the MPAA is crapping themselves over this development in consumer empowerment LOL!!! Kudos to Phillips for having the stones to make it...Customer Review: Good bargain

Pros :
1. Can play Avi files as well. Played almost all the video files in the hard drive.
2.Plays Scratched DVDs
Cons :
1.Supports FAT32 only. The NTFS is not supported.
2. Some of the (Error)Messages displayed on the TV not same as the one in the Manual ( this might need an update)
3.Remote could be more ergonomic.
Conclusion:
If you are like me who have a lot of stuff in the hard drive then this is the best choice. I got this for 60$ and this eliminated the need to have a S-Video cable and hooking up the computer to the TV to watch the movies in the hard disk.

Upconverts DVD's beautifully to 1080p through HDMI. A great alternative for those wanting to wait on purchasing an HDDVD or Blu Ray Player. The USB drive on the front is what sold me on it because I can easily plug in my 5GB flash drive and watch DivX movies that I've downloaded. It also has optical audio out so that you can hook it up to your surround system for crisp digital sound. Aside from being a bit long, it is very thin and sleek with a glossy finish. It will fit beautifully next to your HDTV. I have not found any flaws on this DVD player and am very happy with it. I was already pleased with the upscaling picture, look, and ease of use on this DVD player when I found out the best thing:
This player plays everything. I dont have to change video formats on movies and clips from the computer in order to watch them on this player. I just burn avi files, wmv, divx files etc... directly to a disc and they play. No converting required. (so I can have about 5 full length movies on a DVD)
I have lent these DVDs to many friends. All of them had to do hours of converting in order to play the movies.
A great player until the Blue Ray vs HD-DVD war is settled.

This is great product. The fact it' 1080P upconversion is great. Menu is ok but not as hard as most people are saying setup could be. I found the setup to be fine.
The fact the USB drive connection seems to be limited to certain USB thumb drives is lame. I have two thumb drives and both could not attach to the dVD player. I see it as a challenge to find which one works. Other then that the product is slim and nice and easy to install.
