Customer Review: Great DVD, CD, Jpeg and mp3 player!

I purchased this very inexpensive DVD player as my older Samsung unit would not play jpeg disks or mp3 files. With the supplied HDMI cable, hookup is as simple as plugging one end of the cable into the unit and the other into the flat screen TV. The image quality is spectacular--I never expected my digital pics to look so good! For the $60 or so I paid for this unit, it is a fabulous bargain. I'm sure you can spend more for a unit with lots of bells and whistles, but if you want an inexpensive, simple unit that does a super job with all formats--you cannot go wrong here.....by the way, I have taught university physics and optics so I'm not a total amateur in the area.Customer Review: Upscale me!

I have two of these. It plays everything I've ever thrown at it, with the exception of H.264 (mpeg-4) hi-def files. And, if you don't already know you need this capability, then you won't miss it.
It can also be made region-free, and has built-in PAL conversion, so those UK titles you've been eyeing will play on it just fine.
The best thing about it, though, is the USB port on the front. I bought an 8 GB memory stick, and can put movies and entire seasons of television shows on there and it will play them, with no time consuming pre-conversion needed.
All this for hardly any money. Heck, they're practically giving it away!

This thing is great! The main reason for this purchase was for the USB port. It is not included in the description but you can play video files through it. It plays just like if it were a DVD. Very rarely do you see any skipping. I have not used the up converting on this player since I do not have an HDTV yet but that will be a nice feature sometime in the future.
The only con I can think of(which isn't even that bad) is that the dvd tray is very slow to respond when you open it.
Some people may complain that there is no eject button on the remote but if you hold down the stop button for a few seconds it will open the tray.

using an HDMI cable, this dvd player does it's job and does it well(sound and picture)....seems like a solid player to me. and for all those whining about load times...20 seconds is a bit of an exaggeration....maybe 10 or 11 seconds. god forbid someone would have to wait a few seconds for a dvd to load in this age of instant gratification......never could figure out the logic on the load time thing...whatever. This is a quality product. Take your time(patience again) and set it up for HDMI(or whatever input you use)....tv/picture type...and sound..etc..takes a couple minutes and you're good to go. If you're not sure...read your "owners manual".Customer Review: Better than I expected!

Wow, I didn't expect this DVD player to upconvert to 1080i this well! I have a 3 year old Sharp Aquos and the DVD's picture quality is as good as some of the stuff I see on HDTV! Needless to say, I can't be any happier with what I'm getting on this machine. I don't think I'm gonna be thinking of upgrading to Bluray anytime soon since I'm perfectly happy with what this is doing. Perhaps, my TV is partly why I'm getting this quality (my DVD seems better than some NEW TVs I've seen lately). Also, I have this player connected through HDMI so I'm obviously getting the optimum connection. For $[...], this is performing MUCH better than I expected!
