Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 3 FT Digital Audio Optical TOSLink Cable Optic 3ftCustomer Review: My first Fiber optic sounds! Summary: 5 Stars
I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this product.
I have been using standard analog hookups for my HD dvd player's Dolby Digital and DTS sound until I received this item. The cable is just like the seller describes on this Amazon page...3 foot fiber optic sound cable.
And well, I plugged it into my HD DVD player and into my DTS Receiver--the set up was instant. ONE CABLE for all 7 channels and when I plugged the first end into the HD player, the other end of the cable LIT UP with a little red light so it was easy to see where to hook up the other end in the receiver. The optical sound is its own flashlight basically--and as soon as both ends were plugged in, instantly, I had to turn the sound from my original settings at 10 decibels to 3 decibels, because the optic sound was blasting out my speakers. The cable itself is 3 feet long and about 1/2 inch thick, and it comes with the optical tips covered by a sturdy plastic cup guarding the tips till you can hook them up. The cable itself is strong enough to withstand long-term use unless you have children pulling out your cables constantly. But from what I have seen, I feel it will maintain for years to come.
Seriously, it is TRULY an AUDIBLE MIRACLE from standard connections. For a mere $4 dollars(shipping included, it was the best money I ever spent! I have never heard such GREAT sound before!!!I highly recommend this! In fact, I love it so much I sat right down and wrote this review not one minute after hooking it up!!!
Customer Review: great price, and the cables work perfectly Summary: 5 Stars
I have a Sony STR-K760P receiver with 6.1 channel surround. I'm feeding my DVD in through digital coax, but my DirecTV and XBox both supply Dolby Digital 5.1 via optical output only. While these cables seem a bit delicate (I certainly wouldn't want to step on them, and I was careful not to bend them around sharp corners during setup) they work perfectly! Digital is all-or-nothing, either you get the full signal or you don't. There's no need to buy $20 - $50 digital optical cables from Monster or any other manufacturer, these will work great. My XBox sounds amazing when playing DD 5.1 games.
Customer Review: Why pay more? Summary: 5 Stars
This cable does the trick. It sends the digital signal and does so just fine-what else do you want from a cable of this sort?
It is a little thin, so if you'll be running it over or if you have pets/children who like to chew on your cables it may not be the best choice for you. However, as a general rule, optical cables should not be taking any abuse and if that's the case in your house as it is in mine (despite the small children, the dog, the cats, the other mayhem) I can't think of a reason to buy a more expensive tool to accomplish the exact same job.
Customer Review: Digital sound is digital sound. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this cable for use with my new Xbox360, and it does exactly what it needs to do. I opted for this instead of the "official" cable that comes with the jacked up price, when it doesn't carry anything else, except a fancy brand name, than this one does. I've also bought one of these for my DVD player and it works with that just as well. Prices for these cables can really become unbelievable if you just take a look around online. Don't fall prey to the big box cables, go with the simple choice. Digital sound is digital sound, it can't get any clearer than that.
Customer Review: Why pay a ton of money for a Monster cable? Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted to connect my XBox to my surround sound system, so i did a search for "XBox optical" and the Xbox 100X Fiber Optic Cable by Monster Cable came up. I'm a total noob about audio, so i checked with a friend to see if the XBox needed a particular style of optical cable or if any would do. He suggested that any would do, so i found this 3' cable for about one tenth of the price of the monster cable. I'll cut the long story short: it worked perfectly. For me, it's not worth paying 10 times the price to get a similar product with a fancy name on it.
