Customer Review: Great into to color calibration

I shoot a lot of digital photography on my Nikon d70 and do a lot of tinkering in photoshop. I guess I am a bit of a hobbiest/amatuer.
I got this for Christmas 06, and have never looked back. I have always used some of the various sortware based wizards that calibrate color, but the Huey took all the guess work out of it for me and my monitor has never looked better. It's also got some very nice "preference" modes it can then run in (gaming, graphic design, etc) to more closely tweak a calibration for what you are doing.
For the price, if you have been thinking about getting a sensor based calibration system, this is a steal!

I have been using the Huey for about 2 and half months now on a Dual Opteron workstation, running WinXP Pro, with dual GeForce 7800 GT video cards, pushing 4 Dell 1905 flat panels. It has worked perfect! It is a minor inconveience to change the primary display in Windows to calibrate all 4 monitors, but it works and I only use one monitor for the most critical color work anyway. The Huey is a flat BARGAIN compared to the other calibrators I have used over the years and is much easier and more consistant. I use it mostly for Photoshop, but also some video and 3D. I am a freelance designer and photographer. Very Happy! Highly Reccomended!!Customer Review: It Works!

My laptop monitor has always given a reddish cast to my graphics. Consequently, my attempts at color correcting my photos wound up with very yellow results in my prints. This devise is very easy to set up and within minutes corrected the onscreen images before me. I am no longer looking at the cyber world thorugh rose colore glasses.
The low price of this item initially put me off. After reading a number of persnickety reviews of more expensive products, why should I trust this one? But hey, I'm no professional, just a serious amateur, ad I'm pleased with both the economoy, ease of use, and results of this color calibrator.

Nothing to add to the other reviews- just wanted to mention that I have had this product running on two computers for over six months with only a couple minor issues.
It seems to get a little over-eager on the two week recal deadline- sometimes only a few days.
Occasinally it will disappear from my tray and needs to be restarted and then re-calibrated.
Other than that, no problems. A couple of test prints made with sRGB color space have been pretty darn close in color matching. It seems to be a little undersaturated on reds- but it could just as easily be my eyes and weird reflections.

The Pantone Huey Monitor Color Calibrator is as idiot-proof as they come! Once the software is installed on your computer, it is literally as easy as plugging in the device, hanging it in front of your monitor, and start the software. The software and device do everything else automatically. I've used it on all four of my computers. Three of them had monitors that were WAY off! What a difference it made. Now my printed pictures match what I see on my monitor! This is a must have product for anyone who edits their own digital photos.
