Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of PalmOne m130 HandheldCustomer Review: Just the Palm Ma'am.. Summary: 5 Stars
With so many Palm type handhelds I decided to narrow the search to those we use in our office, yet that didn't make it any easier as I found so many using either the Handspring or Palm based PDA's. What made me pick the M130 was a chance advertisement at the mall that allowed me to charge with 0% interest. Good deal indeed! This little wonder packs so much for such a cool price, it can be loaded with games, ebooks and store way more addresses and numbers then my cell phone could. Plus it is cool to carry with its Star Trek like cover. The only beefs I have with it is the lack of audio capability but then again it is a Palm and not a Clie. Storage issues are easily solved by the use of a MultiMediaCard that can boost the memory upto 128 MB and since MP3's are not an issue that should be plenty for just about any routine task The perfect companion to any busy minded or busy body person.
Customer Review: Best PDA I've Ever Owned! Summary: 5 Stars
The M130 is my 6th PDA, having previously owned the m100, m125, m500, Sony CLIE PEGS320, and a Handspring Visor Prism. In terms of form factor, features, price, and dependability it blows them all out of the water! I bought my m130 the day it came out on the market (March 7, 2002) and I haven't been disappointed one bit. It's been completely trouble free, hotsyncs every time without fail, and has a brilliant color display that in my opinion is superior to the m515. I personally prefer the m130's slightly thicker form factor and smaller screen over the m515, and I really like the ability to change faceplates to suit whatever mood I'm in at the time. I've heard that the m515 has the same manufacturing glitch that has plagued the m500 and m515 and after three warranty exchanges on my m500 I cannot in good faith recommend the m515. I can and do recommend the m130 though.
Customer Review: this is the greatest thing Summary: 5 Stars
I just got mine two days ago. now, loading everything into my computer crashed it several times but otherwise I LOVE IT! I have most of my addresses in there already. I have consolidated all my calendars. I use the to-do list for my business, home business, church and other activities. I have downloaded several books and am now putting in recipes so I can get the groceries I need when at the store, instead of running out at the last minute. I wish there were better helps than the same screen over and over...clearly I've gotten the basics, now advance. but all in all a great item. great price, good rebates! fast shipping - came two days earlier than they said! I love color, so I'm ok with the smaller screen but you might want the 515 if you want a larger screen. only issue, its practically impossible to read my excel docs in here...but I'll keep trying.
Customer Review: More necessary than air... Summary: 5 Stars
Well, maybe not, but close. There really isn't much to be said about Palm products that hasn't been over and over. Suffice it to say that, having graduated to the m130 after my poor, overworked m125 went belly-up, I'm delighted with its features and performance.I went for the 125 initially because I liked the idea of using regular batteries. However, so far the 130's onboard rechargeable is behaving beautifully. I also like that the adapter socket has been moved to the cradle rather than being on the same end as the USB plug as it was previously. I use my Palm mainly for reading--submissions to my publishing company and ebooks sent to me for review. However, I find I'm using the other functions more and more, and Palm OS has one of the nicer interfaces I've used. Great price, and just what I need--who could ask for more?
Customer Review: Love it! AND I'm a first time PDA user. SIMPLE Summary: 5 Stars
I have found no problems with the Palm M130. I have a hectic schedule as a nursing student AND working nights at the hospital. I find the M130 ideal for storing drug info and the color screen (which is crystal clear) is easy to read even when you've been awake for 24 hours! The Palm was easy to use from the start. I only scanned the manual and immediately starting importing files/ data to it. I set the alarm for appointments and they actually woke me up when I overslept! I do strongly reccommend a case for the item though. I can see that it could be a very fragile piece of equipment. If you are going to be using it in a hospital setting--I would suggest the Palm Glove. It protects from fluids AND shock. Plus, it isn't a bulky case so you can easily carry it in your scrubs pocket.A definate thumbs up!
