Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of PalmOne m130 HandheldCustomer Review: Inexpensive Color Handheld Summary: 5 Stars
When I bought this product I was surprised at the low price. You really get a lot for your money. It's a little bulkier than most other palm pilots, but is surprisingly light. It also has a handy flip cover with a little window that displays the time for a few seconds when you press the up button. It has a great color display with 58,621 colors and two levels of backlight brightness. It also comes with a great array of software, including DataViz Documents to Go and MGI PhotoSuite. Unlike previous m100 series handhelds, it has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which lasts about two days of regular use. It's also compatible with Secure Digital and MultiMedia (MMC) cards. I would recommend getting accessories also. It's compatible with all accessories from the m500 series. It only comes with 8 MB of memory so I recommend buying a 16 or 32 MB Secure Digital expansion card. If you're willing to spend a little bit more, I recommend getting the palm m515. It's smaller, lighter, has double the memory, and has a slightly larger screen.
Customer Review: Great Palm For A Great Price Summary: 5 Stars
The Palm m130 is a great PDA for anyone. Nearly everything about it pleases me. After I bought it I thought it would take a while to learn how to use (especially the "graffiti"), but I found that I had gotten the hang of it after 15 minutes. Even the graffiti was simple and easy to learn. Here are some Pro's and Con's for you to consider: Pro's: -Easy to learn and use -Runs fast -High quality color -HotSync is easy to set up and only takes about 30 seconds to complete -The 8MB of memory it comes with is expandable, so you never have to worry about running out of memory -The price is exellent, epecially when you compare it with other PDA's from other companies -The battery is rechargableCon's -When you use the stylus around the edges of the screen it sometimes won't read your command -Battery (which is rechargable) drains somewhat quickly, but this doesn't matter that much because each time you HotSync it charges up...
Customer Review: Great PDA to replace my Palm III Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using a Palm III for about 5 years and finally maxed out its memory. So I decided to upgrade to a newer model that has an expansion slot and at least 8 MB. After trying out several models I narrowed down my search to the m130 and m500 from Palm. I bought the m130 because of two reasons; it felt much more comfortable to hold than the slimmer m500, and the color display makes it much easier for me to read than the monochrome screen. I have had it about 1 week and I'm hooked. I love using it, the color screen makes such a difference. It is so much easier to read text against the white background. I also find the Grafitti recognition to be more accurate than the Palm III and I like the feel of the screen when writing. I also like the ability to write "notes" directly on the screen. All in all a great device for a reasonable price (I bought it here at Amazon). I would highly recommend the m130 - go for it!
Customer Review: Just the Palm Ma'am.. Summary: 5 Stars
With so many Palm type handhelds I decided to narrow the search to those we use in our office, yet that didn't make it any easier as I found so many using either the Handspring or Palm based PDA's. What made me pick the M130 was a chance advertisement at the mall that allowed me to charge with 0% interest. Good deal indeed! This little wonder packs so much for such a cool price, it can be loaded with games, ebooks and store way more addresses and numbers then my cell phone could. Plus it is cool to carry with its Star Trek like cover. The only beefs I have with it is the lack of audio capability but then again it is a Palm and not a Clie. Storage issues are easily solved by the use of a MultiMediaCard that can boost the memory upto 128 MB and since MP3's are not an issue that should be plenty for just about any routine task The perfect companion to any busy minded or busy body person.
