Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Palm Hard Case for Tungsten E and Tungsten E2Customer Review: Very pleased with Palm Hard Case for Tungsten E2 Summary: 5 Stars
After comparing and reading reviews on several different cases for my Palm Tungsten E2, I decided to order this hard case. My husband has the case which has access ports for the SC card, charging port, headphone port, sync port, etc, but I felt that those openings would not protect my Palm in my purse, as small things could easily poke into those openings (nail file, pens, etc). Besides, my husband actually lost an SD card out of his Palm because of those openings.
Since protection was my #1 priority, this case fills that requirement perfectly. It opens easily when you press in on the correct side (side w/ arrow), yet after two months of use, it has never popped open on it's own while tumbling around in my purse. The front flips all the way around against the back, so it is easy to hold in your left hand while writing with your right. If you are left handed, holding the Palm in your right hand, I'm sure you could just leave the front hanging open rather than fold it all the way back.
I don't take it out of the case to charge. Despite some people being worried about damage to the charging cord with the weight of the Palm resting on the cord while still in the case, I don't feel it is an issue. If you feel strongly about it, all you would have to do is put something between the back of the case and the Palm to lift the Palm out of the case and hold it's weight while the charging cord is plugged in. I sync using a bluetooth connection, so no longer use the sync cord.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and highly recommend this case to anyone wanting the ultimate protection for their Palm. The price can't be beat either. I had looked around at a few stores for a case before purchasing this one, but couldn't find one I liked. A few weeks after I purchased this one, I saw the same one in a store, and it was priced at over $40.
Customer Review: Just what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
After a few years of daily use, the original "leather" swinging cover finally tore off. Silly me, I thought that I would simply buy a replacement. This was not to be had so I looked for more protection.
I use my Tungsten E2 as a calendar, contact list and a data-base for storing lots of information that I frequently need at my finger-tips. Note: I do NOT use this device as an MP3 player.
When I got the case, there were no instructions and I found it difficult to open. I saw the arrow on the side, but it meant nothing.
I'm a pretty persistent guy, and after using Palm products over a decade, I knew the arrow had to mean something. Well, I pushed on the arrow and the bottom slid making opening the case VERY EASY.
It took me longer to get the remnant of the original cover off than it took to attach the PDA to the case.
The case is aluminum clad plastic with designated storage area for two extra SD data storage cards. There is a plastic flip-top that coincides with the SD card in the PDA. I don't know its purpose - perhaps for wi-fi cards.
While the PDA is nesting in the case, there is no access to the earpiece socket, on/off botton or the stylus. I would have to un-nest it from the back.
I don't use the earpiece socket.
I usually turn the PDA on with one of the four direct buttons and let it turn itself off.
After years of practice, most of the time I make entries using my finger nails, so the stylus access is not an issue. In fact, making it a two-step access will probably prevent my having to buy new ones.
So, I guess they made this case with me in mind.
Customer Review: Excellent value and a great case Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent hard case with a slim profile that will do a great job protecting your PDA. The case has a double hinge so you can fold it completely open which allows it to swing all the way open so that front and back meet. The PDA itself sits inside and is mounted so that it hinges on its left side. The hinge allows you to swing the PDA up from the case to access the stylus, power button, attach the USB cable, and the power cord. It is very, very easy to access these areas by swinging up the PDA on its hinge. We purchased this case because it was a great price and my wife preferred a hard case. It fits in her purse as easy as a large cosmetic compact. The reviewers who mentioned how hard it was to access the areas mentioned above, unjustifiably lowered our expectations. Once the case arrived and we saw how easy it was to access these points we were pleasantly surprised. The PDA in this case is my wife's constant companion which she finds simple to carry and protects the PDA very well. Buy this case!
Customer Review: I have never written a review before, so good I had to. Summary: 5 Stars
I looked at this hard case and decided not to buy it because of the bad reviews I read about it. I bought a leather case instead for my Tungsten E that lasted for 2 months before it fell apart. Lack of options lead me back to the hard case and I am so glad I bought it. I only wish I wouldn't have wasted the money on the leather case.I have never taken my palm out of the case to sync or charge it. I turn it on with the four power buttons at the bottom. I turn it off with the stylus in my hand, it reaches the power button without having to lift the palm out of the case. I do have to lift the palm up to put the stylus back in but it only takes a second. The case does not scratch my palm. The silver case looks very classy and elegant. I feel that my palm is very secure and safe when in my case. I can't help but gush, you should have seen what I had been using.
Customer Review: great protection for you new palm Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this case the day after I got the tungsten e. Do not use the built-in flip cover that comes with the palm. The flip cover ACTUALLY SCRATCHES THE PALM. I found that out the hard way. Other people complain that they can't get to the stylus or power button with this case, umm there was a piece of foam inside the packaging to prop the palm up inside the case. The foam puts pressure on the palm so that it doesn't rattle around in there, it also makes accesing the stylus and power button a cinch. Use your heads people. The case is very sexy looking being that it is sparkley aluminum, and it is slim and sleek, adding barely no weight or bulk to the palm. I think this is a great product that serves it's primary purpose to protect the palm, as well as adding a sexy look to an already sexy looking handheld.
