Wanted a more reasonable priced adapter for my macbook. Decided on this one after looking at the reviews. So far it works great, I've tried it with both projectors and hooking my macbook up to several different monitors. All I had to do was plug it in, and it worked right away. It did stay in my backpack for a few weeks, going with me wherever I went, and still worked fine. Maybe the other people ended up with defective products? This one is definitely worth a try before you buy the expensive apple adapter.
