Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of PNY Geforce FX5200 256MB PCI Graphics CardCustomer Review: want beryl on an old machine - this card is for you Summary: 5 Stars
I have an old machine P4 512mb ram and what used to be a Vanta 16mb nvidia card. Now I don't care about graphics but I like to have a gui that works for me. I like transparent terminals and opacity to make things stand out or not, I like to zoom in on graphics, and video. This card works great for these features. I don't play games except for classics like Go and Chess so I don't really care what the card can't do in this department. It is great for a Linux machine that can do almost what you want but not quite and for $50 it will keep my computer alive for another year.
Customer Review: works great Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this card for my Dell 2350 because I couldn't play some of the newest games and needed a PCI card. It works great and can now play games that couldn't before. It was a little tricky to setup, since the Dell motherboard has a built in graphics card. Yes, after following the directions it still didn't work - had to bootup with on-board card, then while running select the new card in the settings while running. Following the directions didn't work, but figured out after about 20 min. Great card for the price. All my games and programs work. I would buy again.
Customer Review: good price and good performance Summary: 5 Stars
I have an XP system. Two months ago, I bought a 3D ATI Graphic,nVIDIA gForc', MX, Gold, VGA, 32MB. The system said it had not passed the Windows Logo Testing, but I still click OK. As a results, my system got a lot of problems: freezing, lagging, and blue screen...Now, I have a new PNY GeForce FX5200 256MB PCI Graphic Card. This new one passed Logo Testing, For a whole week passed, it has worked perfectly well with no lagging, freezing, or blue screen. I bought it through Amazon for $58. It's so good in price and performance.

Customer Review: Inexpensive card for dual monitor support Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the FX5200 to support two monitors on my old Dell Dimension 2400. It's a good, inexpensive card for this purpose. Card has two vga ports so no vga to dvi adaptor is needed for the second monitor. Also has an S-video port for use with a TV. Installation was a breeze although I did Google some install info which walked me through disabling the onboard video card. Not sure if that was really necessary as the install disk would probably have done so for me. Mild improvement in video quality, but that was of secondary importance to me.
Customer Review: Great Card Summary: 5 Stars
So far this card has been great. I've run Kubuntu Dapper and now Sabayon 3.3 on it. I also ran Beryl on both distros without a problem. On Kubuntu just download the Nvidia drivers from the repos, and Sabayon already comes with them. Since this card is Vista compatible, I think I may try that out later. As far as gaming I could not help much, It played Cube 2 and Cold War fine on my PC but I only played them for a few minutes. I highly recommend this Graphics Card.
