Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of PNY Geforce FX5200 256MB PCI Graphics CardCustomer Review: Great for older systems with PCI only slots Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great and inexpensive card if you're looking for a few more years out of that old Dell Dimension. While it can't play more advance games (XBox 360 level games), it can run most older and less graphically intense games. The difference between trying to run Half life 2: Episode 1 on an integrated Intel video-card compared to this, is like night and day for me; runs perfectly with no lag.
If you want the latest and greatest...get a new computer. If you use your computer mainly to browse the web, and play the occasional PC game; this card is great if you want some more performance out of your old PC, but don't want to spend the money to upgrade completely.
Customer Review: Great card, great with Vista Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this card after purchasing a Windows Vista upgrade for my Dell Dimension 3000 (no AGP or PCIe slots, integrated on-motherboard video, Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, 2GB RAM). It installed in a snap, the directions were clear and well-written, and I was up and running within minutes. Windows Aero works and looks great. I'm not a gamer, so I can't vouch for how this card performs on really graphics-intensive games, but my flight simulators run smoothly.
Best of all, Vista drivers are included on the CD (and are also available for download from PNY's web site). Vista didn't think twice about hitting the ground running with this card. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Customer Review: For the price, it's great Summary: 5 Stars
I use this to work with x5 monitors. I have one onboard, two for PCI-ex16 on an ATIx600. Then All I have left was PCIx1 and PCI. I had a PCIx1 card, dual monitor. But it only had 32mb of videoram . . . ? So I got this one instead and it works just great. I can have a pretty cool OpenGL screensaver running on all 5 monitors and the FPS is still up n to 50's.
It's not meant for gaming, though it will play Jedi Academy on it, something that's popular in the office place at least. Fear makes it cry, but then it makes the rest of my optiplex, standard issue cry anyway.
For the money it's great. It works for what I wanted, another 2 monitors.
Customer Review: Plug and Play Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to expand my system to 3 monitors -- 2 is good, 3 is WAY better. My AGP slot was already filled with my main video card, so I needed another for more video out ports. (PCI not PCIe; yes, there's a difference.) I plugged it in, let Vista recognize it, rebooted and I was good to go.
This is a dual monitor card so I could go to 4 monitors if I find some more desk real estate. Both video out ports are only VGA.
My third monitor is a piece of junk 17-inch CRT, but it works just fine with the card.
Extra tip:
Use DisplayFusion (free) to gain control of your multiple-monitor setup.
Customer Review: Works great! Summary: 5 Stars
This is just what I wanted. I had just gotten a used Dell Optiplex 170L and needed better graphics without spending a lot. The card plugged in easily, and the driver CD was easy to use. There was no need to disable the onboard video chip, since the system automatically switched to the PNY card. Now my graphics are much better than the stock option and the computer also feels faster. My flight simulator is now real smooth and there are a lot more details in the picture. Well worth the price and with free shipping it's hard to go wrong if you have an older computer in need of some better graphics performance.
