Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Philips USA PH-62050 CD/MP3/MD-To-Cassette Adapter

Customer Review: Make sure you have "This Side Up"
Summary: 5 Stars

Good value and good option for my 2003 VW Jetta that has a tape deck and also a CD player. Obviously not as convenient as a direct connect but I use this more than my wireless transmitter because now I don't have to find the right FM station. I bought it at W-Mart and was about to take it back because it would have a weird sort of hiss on my podcast. I just figured that it was as good as going to get. I then read the back of the package and it said if you need to move the wire by removing the screws in order to have the right side up this is how to do it. MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD. Sounds just as good as my GF's direct connect. Good product.

Customer Review: great way to update cassette deck to play Ipod !
Summary: 5 Stars

My previouis car had a aux jack for my Ipod. Got a car over the weekend and had just a cassette/CD deck in it...no aux for ipod.
I wanted to get a new deck with the aux jack so I can jam to my Ipod as I drive all day for a living. Too much a hassel and too much $$....at frist I looked at them FM transmitter devices. Then like a light bulb goes off...DUH...get a cassette adapter!
Bought this Phillips, inserted it in the deck, the other end plugged into my Ipiod....boom! Great music!
Sounds great...no hiss or static....perfect!
Way a great $10 way to get my Ipod to play from an old obsolete tape deck!

Customer Review: Good value & performance
Summary: 5 Stars

I got the Philips Cassette Converter to run my iPod Shuffle in my '96 Saab 900 with factory equiped stereo and it works beautifully. Yes, it is true that the signal is not very strong, so you have to turn the volume up a bit, but even the little Shuffle can compensate for it and by no means do you need to fear forgetting to turn the volume down when you switch to Radio or CD. The sound quality is as good as the iPod delivers and you have no disturbing background noise. I also had no problems that the deck would eject the tape. I can recommend this product and it's good value for money (I didn't try similar one)

Customer Review: works perfectly
Summary: 5 Stars

I was concerned that this cassette adapter would not work in my car's cassette deck because of the auto-reverse feature, over which I have no control, but that is no longer a concern. I have a 1995 Saturn SC1 with a factory tape deck. There is minimal noise between tracks and I can hear no noise when a track is playing. The cord is even in the proper orientation for my deck, so I didn't even have to mess with changing it... plug and play! I have had it for only a couple of weeks, so cannot yet speak to its longevity, but it seems sturdily made. If it turns out to be short-lived, I will update this review.

Customer Review: totally awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

I have never used my cassette deck in my 2004 Jetta and I am the original owner. Now I use it to play MP3s, use Google Navigator and make hands free calls on my HTC Incredible. Sound quality is actually better (freq resp) than the cheap VW CD player that comes with the Monsoon premium amp and speaker package. No problems with autoreverse. Converts your useless obsolete tape deck into a line-in for anything with a miniplug: phone, mp3 player, laptop/netbook, digital voice recorder, you name it. I love this thing. now i don't have to buy a new stereo.
