Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Philips USA PH-62050 CD/MP3/MD-To-Cassette Adapter

Customer Review: Ipod player for old cars.
Summary: 5 Stars

If you want something that will honestly work with old car stereo's this is the way to go. The price is very cheap and simple to work and it works with an ipod. For the longest time I was using a device that transmitted my ipod through the radio signal via the old lighter. This worked great till the signal was lost. If you want something with a reliable signal that will cause little aggravation this is the way to go. Cheap simple and easy.

Overall:
1. Yes it works with Ipods. If your headphones can stick in the device this will play it.
2. It is cheap.
3. It is reliable.

Is $35 worth a wireless signal that can be lost as simple as a man on a family holiday? No! Get something cheap that has a good reliable signal that won't let you down.

Customer Review: Tape adapter works wonders !
Summary: 5 Stars

The Philips tape adapter I purchased is working great. I use it everyday to play music from my ipod through my suv's speakers. The sound quality is great, and I'm happy with the product. The only thing i've noticed that isn't perfect, is that if you turn the car speakers up close to all the way (I'm talking blow you out of the rig high) without any music playing, you can hear a slight "sssssss" sound. It only becomes present if you have the volume really high. If you play music with the ipod volume low, and the car volume high, you can hear a faint "ssssss" but it is very mild. If you turn the ipod up, and the car radio down, the "sssss" goes away. You can listen to your music way too loud, without hearing any extra sound with this product.
I love it.

Customer Review: Very nice.
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm surprised. This thing works very, very well. I have it in a 2006 Acura TL, perhaps the last year they stuck a cassette player in a car?? Anyway, the entire musical spectrum is passed. There is no drop out in the low end. There is no discernible distortion in the high end. Playing my iPhone through this sounds every bit as good as the original CD.

The only negative I notice is that when the car is off and no music is playing, you hear the faint mechanical hum of the cassette mechanism churning away. I'm sure that as soon as I turn the motor on and start driving, it will no longer be an issue.

Again, very pleased and I'll report back if it falls apart in an unreasonably short time frame. (I just got this today)

Customer Review: dependable and solid
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the Philips MP3-to-cassette adapter for the sole purpose of being able to listen to music and podcasts in my car, via my iPod Touch.

The package comes in a solidly packed plastic package, and includes the cassette adaptor and 1/8" jack cable. Installing this device is easy. Simply pop the cassette head into the tape deck dash of your car, and plug the cable into your MP3 player of choice. To my ears, the resulting audio quality sounds really good. There were no hisses and pops, unlike my previous Monster cassette-to-MP3 adapter. The unit is reasonably priced and comes with a life-time warranty. It does what it says it can do, and does it well.

Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Works past auto-reverse in my tape deck :-D
Summary: 5 Stars

I drive a 2001 Honda, and my CD player stopped working recently. I'm going to see if I can get it fixed, but in the meantime, I bought the cassette adapter to listen my portable CD player in the car. This one hasn't been affected by the auto-reverse function in my tape deck, and the sound quality is pretty clear. It works like magic compared to the other one I had. Before getting this one, I made the mistake of buying the EIS brand at Target. The construction was way cheap, the sound quality was scratchy, and it would only play for 30 seconds before the auto-reverse would switch on and spit the tape out.

This Philips brand miraculously avoids this altogether.
