I have cable service with Charter Communications and about 7 of my HD channels had heavy pixelation or wouldn't tune in at all. After a month long of repeated calls and techs coming to my house to fix the weak signal problem - they didn't do one thing to correct the problem - I took matters into my own hands. After a little research online, I found that others had the same problem and resolved it with a Cable TV amplifier signal booster. I purchased the only one that Radio Shack stocked which boosted the signal 10db. After installing it in my attic before the splitters, all of my HD channels except 2 came in perfectly. Obviously I wanted all my HD channels to tune in perfectly and crystal clear, so I found the PCT 1-PORT BI-DIRECTIONAL CABLE TV HDTV AMPLIFIER SIGNAL BOOSTER WITH PASSIVE RETURN PATH (which has 15db strength) on Amazon.com for about $30 including shipping. After installing it, all of my HD channels come in perfectly. It was an easy fix and well worth the money. Some may suggest changing to ATT uverse, DirectTV or some other service, but I wanted to avoid that because of the great deal I get with Charter. I have to call them every 6 months and threaten to switch to AT&T and they continue my low price deal. AT&T would cost about $40 more per month to match what I have in premium HD channel selection.

If you are having cable TV picture problems this may be the product for you. It is NOT compatible with satellite TV, and will actually block satellite reception - so do not order it if you have satellite TV. This product will improve your cable TV picture and reduce pixilation, snow, and audio drop-outs that are caused by a weak signal level. It is compatible with all cable TV systems and services. You may or may not notice a difference in cable modem speed when using the amplifier. A number of factors influence cable modem speed, and there is no guarantee a booster will improve modem performance. If you are boosting an HDTV antenna signal, you should get the best HD antenna you can afford BEFORE using a booster. This signal amplifier IS NOT a substitute for a good antenna. If you are using an indoor antenna or are having HD reception problems with just a single TV attached to your outdoor antenna, this product will likely not improve your reception.
