First off, I am not one to write reviews for products but I had to for this product. I live in a house that also has an in-law suite built onto it. I have one cable coming to the house, split 4 times going into the house and so many other splits in the house that I couldn't possibly count them all. I hooked this up at the splits outside the house and was just amazed at what it did to improve the quality of our picture. I never thought I would get pass this issue of poor TV quality and was beyond frustrated. I am so very thankful that I came across this device and for anyone that has doubts, I am here to tell you that it does what it says it will and more

I purchased this cable amplifiler in hopes it would help a little with my weak cable signal. WOW, what a difference it made. My TV picture went from snowy to crystal clear.
My weak cable signal is due to a weaker than normal cable signal from my cable supplier and compiling to this problem was that I had to split it to 8 different area's in my house.
I had purchased a cable amplifier from Radio Shack about 5 years ago which provided no help. I often looked into purchasing something else on the higher end but I didn't want to invest over $150 and get no results again.
I saw this product and read all the reviews and thought I would give it a try. I'm sure happy I did.

I read about 60 reviews to decide whether to connect the cable modem to the amp or not. Some said yes, some said no. Seller wasn't helpful. So I decided to go for it and plug the modem into the "to MTA" port.
The results were spectacular.
My internet speed went from 24/3.6 to 33/9.
The signal strength as shown in the Explorer 8300HD info screen went from -16 to -9 on the worst channels, and the picture quality on those marginal channels was fixed. Period.
Great product.
UPDATE
After using the amp for several weeks I still give it 5 stars. But found that I had to split the modem input before the amp. Plugging the modem into the amp gave me inconsistent internet service.

I have Charter cable with 4 TVs (2 HD, 2 SD) one cable modem, and Internet phone service. The analog channels were snowy, and the digital tended to pixilate. I couldn't get all of the HD channels. Getting Charter service to come out is usually a painful experience, so I bought this splitter/amplifier. It was a piece of cake to hook up, and now all of the TV channels are crystal clear. I get all of the HD channels on both HD TVs. I haven't tested the internet speed, but I'm sure it's faster. I watch a lot of TV on HULU and other internet sources, and it used to freeze up a lot. Now it doesn't. If you spit your cable at least 6 ways, and are having poor signal issues, I highly recommend this amplifier.Customer Review: 8-port antenna signal amplifier

I refuse to pay the outrageous price of cable, so I stick with the antenna. But we have half a dozen TVs in the house (could be more in the future) that we need to get the signal to. So I purchased this product to be used as a splitter and signal distribution amplifier. We just replaced our old antenna with a new digital one. It's hard to say how much improvement is attributable to the new antenna, and how much to the new amplifier, but when we rescanned for channels after having both hooked up, according to the antenna installer, we got the most channels he's ever seen for this area. In my opinion, a lot of that is attributable to the amplifier. So I would definitely recommend this product.
