Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 4 PORT CABLE TV / HDTV / DIGITAL AMPLIFIER INTERNET MODEM SIGNAL BOOSTER INTERNET AMPCustomer Review: Improvement noticed Summary: 5 Stars
In my case it was the usual cable TV problems I wanted to correct. All too often certain channels would stutter and get blocky while losing sound. Then our internet signal would cause the modem to drop out until restarted.
This amplifier seems to have really helped, although not 100%. I still have to restart my router now and then, and channels still mess up on occasion, but not nearly as often as before.
Quite honestly I can only blame the cable company. I get the impression this signal amplifier is doing what it can with notably inferior cable signal strength.
That's why I still give it 5 stars.
Customer Review: New to drop amps Summary: 5 Stars
We have three cable boxes from Comcast. Strangely, the one closest to the cable inlet to the house could not get our NBC affiliate (and no tivo either) along with a crappy picture. Our HD channels would not show a menu. We replaced the box twice, no change. We tried several passive splitters, none worked. We ordered this drop amp splitter, installed very easily, now the signal strength is excellent. Labels on the device made it very clear how to hook it up. One thing not mentioned, you need an extra coax cable to attach the power supply (AC adapter). I recommend this amp if you have one or two locations that have bad reception.
Customer Review: Just what I needed... Summary: 5 Stars
Am using this with 2 digital TV tuners & an RCA DTV converter box hooked to a TV & analog TV tuner. Hooking it up...went from less than 50% strength to 75% on a coat hanger antenna I built myself hanging outside my window. The way I could get a better signal is by mounting my antenna on the chimney above the roof line. Being that I'm scared of heights & an additional 25% of strength isn't worth me falling off the ladder or the roof.
With the better signal strength...my roommate is going to get the 1 or 2 port version of this for the cable modem since the cable company won't do anything without overcharging you for it.
Customer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
There are many signal amplifiers out there that do absolutely nothing. This one works very well, and I highly recommend it!! Don't fall for the cheapies at Walmart!
In the area where I live, FOX came in pretty weak over the air, and I often experienced pixelation, especially on HD Broadcasts. Long cable runs inside the house, and the use of a 4 Way Splitter didn't help the situation. I replaced the 4 Way Splitter with this unit, and my reception went from 69% to 80%. I have not had any problems with pixelation since then.
If you have any doubts, just try it, you won't be disappointed.
Customer Review: Vastly improved my Signal for all the TV's and Internet Summary: 5 Stars
I was getting -3db signal quality for my cable modem before using this and after I hooked it up to where the line came in from outside it boosted my signal to +9db which is a huge jump.
The TV's also have a feature that shows you 1-5 signal bars for signal strength, I was getting 1/5 bars before connecting this amplifier, after I hooked it up the TV's were getting 3/5 signal bars, agian another huge improvement in signal strength.
I would highly recommend connecting one of these to where the cable signal comes into your house, you will see a huge improvement in signal strength.
