Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Palm Z22 HandheldCustomer Review: A Good Palm Summary: 5 Stars
Il get right to the point. Palm made a trade off between features and money. This palm cost a low $[...] at retail price, BUT only has aprox 4,000 colors( an average color palm has 40,000 i think). Another thing is no expandable memory slot which made me hesitate before buying it. It also is not compatible with a lot of features to see what i mean go to [...](on the bottom it compares all the new palms)Some people might think its worse becuase it only has 2 side buttons, but ill tell you something - its better with 2. now ill give a pros/cons.
PROS=
Big bang for your buck.
is good for a person who just needs an organizer and isnt intrested in multimedia.
small.
i-pod style look.
can hold most games
long battery life
CONS=
no radio,video clips, internet, mp3.
low graphics.
no memory slot
Also my pesonal favorite game is Bike or Die which is avalible to download at bike.toyspring.com
All in all this palm is affordable, usefull, and one of Palm's best products.
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for...but not recommended with Vista Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first PDA, and I put off purchasing one for ages...but the price was just right. It is extremely easy to use, the size is small enough to fit handily anywhere I need to stow it, and it just LOOKS good.
Can't think of a single thing I would change....the Z22 is just a great little gadget! My hubby liked mine so much I bought him one too. (He is VERY non-techie. It has taken him a year to finally figure out how to work the iPod. So the fact that he took to this like a duck to water says a lot! He has had no problems figuring out how to work the Z22)
FYI, this is almost impossible to use with Windows Vista, and was actually the last straw in a long line of incompatibility problems with my new PC. (it took 3 days, almost 30 hours on the Palm support website, and 2 calls to Dell and 2 calls to Palm support to finally get it to sync with my PC) BUT it is a dream and I have had NO problems with my the new Mac and the Z22.
Palm support is awesome; very helpful, very friendly and very apologetic even tho' it was not their fault. :o)
Customer Review: I love my little Palm! Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned this Palm for almost a year now. Previously I owned a Palm IIIc. My IIIc was large and bulky so I didn't carry it with me or use it regularly. The Z22 is much smaller than the IIIc. It fits comfortably in my front pants pocket. It goes everywhere with me. I love it! I couldn't live without it!
It is easy to use also. The contacts and calendar have buttons so you don't have to take out the stylus to view them.
Some people claim that the graffiti is more difficult to use than the Palm III. It is slightly different. But I had no problem learning the characters that changed. You always can select the abc or 123 on the entry pad to use the keyboard type display of all characters.
The only drawback is the amount of memory. I have had to delete some of the included software so that I could have room for the programs I wanted to add. But the programs I wanted to add were very large. Its memory is much larger than the Palm IIIc memory.
Despite that drawback, for the price, I would definitely buy this again.
Customer Review: I finally succumbed to peer pressure! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband's been after me for YEARS to purchase a Palm...and I've resisted, preferring my good old handwritten organizer. Then I missed 2 important appointments in a row and had trouble trying to find a phone number amongst my dozens of handwritten of out-of-date numbers in my book. I purchased this particular model because it seemed the simplest and most reasonably priced of my choices. I'm extremely pleased with the ease of use, the fact that I didn't need to learn some strange printing method to write down my entries, and the organization is very logical. I purchased a great faux-suede cover for it and it fits easily into my purse. My only complaint is that the alarm isn't very loud, even when set at the loudest setting; I've gotten into the habit of checking it each morning, so I've yet to miss another appointment, but I'd prefer a higher volume. Other than that, this has made my life a lot simpler. My husband almost seems disappointed that he can no longer tease me about being so behind the times, technologically speaking, and for this, too, I am most grateful!
Customer Review: Beware Vista Users! Summary: 5 Stars
I have to give the device 5 stars. I've had palm hand-helds before and this one is very good, light weight and has an excellent display. However the software included is not compatible with Vista. It appeared to load, but nothing would sync. I e-mailed technical support back and forth for a long time. The tech never could figure out what the problem was, I even asked him if it could be a Vista problem and he didn't know. I finally googled "Palm desktop for Vista" and found out that the software has to be downloaded from the palm website. The download took over an hour, then the information was zipped and I had to buy Winzip in order to unpack it to send to my computer. I was almost ready to return the device for a refund, but I had spent so much time trying to get it to work that I didn't want to feel as though I had wasted my time and effort. So if you have a Vista operating system, you can still use this device with your computer, but don't waste your time with the software included in the package. Go directly to the internet and get the software from the website.
