I attached the ATC2K camcorder to the included elastic strap mount and put the thing on my head before heading out for an encounter of the 3rd kind with Orca whale pods in the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington. The previous year, my brother had been out there...waiting and they came. Right under his kayak and around his kayak, but he could not paddle and operate his handheld camcorder so he missed getting any action except for sounds...mostly his giving off expletives as the whales surfaced nearby and then moved on.
This year I came for the event prepared to capture the moment on video. As fate would have it they never stopped where we were waiting but the ATC2K camcorder worked perfectly while my arms and hands were free to paddle. Maybe next year.

I've had a little time to play with the camera now, and I think it's a great camera. I got my money's worth on this one!
I put it on top of a radio controled car and it worked great. I was hoping to use it to document some of my motorcycle trips by attaching it to my helmet, but the strap that comes with the camera won't go around the helmet. It works on the Forks and the Handlebars OK., but I really want to have it on the helmet so that it sees what I see.
I am sure I will come up with a method and when I do I'll share it with everyone.

I bought an ATC 2K about 2 months ago and have used it biking (just around town, to try it out), white water rafting, and sailing. It takes a little practice to figure out how to aim it for best effect, but it works great after that. I got some excellent vid ocean sailing on Long Island w/ the cam strapped to the mast of a Laser. Like a few others have said, it's not great in low light conditions, so it might not be good for mountain biking in shady areas, etc. I'm thinking of upgrading to the ATC 3K at some point, so I can use 4 GB SD cards with it (and the remote would be handy, for sailing).Customer Review: Best camera ever

Man! This camera is great! I mounted it on the handlebars of my foreman. We went riding at night. As long as there is someone in front of you to reflect the light back to the camera it works great! You dont see anything if you are the man in front. Video quality is very good. For high quality sound you must remove the waterproof cover at the back of the camera. This camera is tough too. It has been abused under me and still works fine. If you are in inhospitable places and want a camera that you dont have to worry about with very good performance, this is for you. I was blown out of the water by the speed of the shipping. Then I used the camera for ATVing and I think I just about died when I saw how good it kept up with the speed!! I recomend this to anyone who wants an inexpensive but very reliable camera. The only downside I can come up with is it does not like to be in near dark areas or pointed at light. Other than that, I enjoy this camera more than anything else.
