Well, you might be suprised to hear that this little cheap looking pc of plastic is any good, but I'm here to tell you...it is good!
Seriously, if your just starting out and want a mini soft box for your speedlight, I would recommend this one until you have enough put together for the real deal.
Although the plastic feels like it's crap, it actually went together very easily and stayed on the speedlight.
When you run the velco strap through the tabs just be careful...for starters- the plastic is very sharp (you may give yourself a nice paper...in this case plastic cut)so you could cut yourself. Second, the tabs are made from thin pliable plastic ...so if your not careful and you rip a couple tabs, it might make it hard to keep the soft box on your light.
Otherwise...I got it...I used it and it did it's job, it's not too much different then a plastic diffuser, except you get a little more light...and I'm talking a "little" more brightness then you will with the cheap plastic diffusers (I also got one of those on here, and again...worth the couple bucks!)
the sides of this thing weren't exactly touching making a tight seal, but that was ok, I'm sure after much use (as much as it will take) it may start to wear a bit more and be more pliable, if not, I may just throw some pc's of tape around the areas where the plastic meets, but it's really not that necessary.

What a huge relief it was to find this little puppy. I've been struggling for a while with the harsh lighting off my flash but hadn't been able to find a tool to buy that would solve this problem for me. Many products use sticky adhesives to adhere their diffusers or just looked to bulky to use or carry in my camera bag.
This Opteka is so easy to use and carry around. It just works fantastic. It uses a velco strap to attach (which is a breeze) making is so easy to off and on that I don't frustrate myself when I need to change up my configuration quickly. It's made of super high quality synthetic material too. It folds flat which is so important to me because space in my camera bag is always at a premium.
The price point is unbeatable!
Get it. It's a good buy and you will use it constantly.

When I was trying to decide whether or not to purchase this particular softbox, I noticed a lot of people complaining about the quality... like it seemed as though it would fall apart or something. I do not get that impression at all. It is made of a bendable, foldable material, but doesn't seem "flimsey". It is meant to be compact so that you can fold it up small and fit it right into your camera bag... (mine fits inside the front pocket of my bag nicely). It is super easy to attatch to the flash and stays on great. I think for the price and the compactness of the this diffuser, it is well worth the money and comes very much in handy. I have been happy with the results... though I should say I use it mainly as a form of fill flash with my outdoor portraits... not main lighting. Definately recommend.Customer Review: Great Product!

I had a little difficulty at first, but quickly realized a piece of shipping paper was covering the inside of the box. After clearing up the user-error, the flash box worked great. I have a 10-20mm lens with a 580EX II. The flash has a wide angle adjustment attached, but is only rated for 14mm. When I go to 10mm the edges are noticeably dark. This flash box clears up the problem I've been having. No matter how wide I go, no more dark edges. I love it! I did have to form it into the nice neat shape, but I like how tight it packs away. It mounts quickly and easily. I've had no problems. It's the best item I found for camera mount diffuser. It's part of my every day kit now.Customer Review: This thing is awesome - a must have

This thing takes my picture from good to wow. I was realllllly surprised that it does so much. If you're on the fence about getting it, just get it. It's cheap enough that you won't really be out of any real money if you don't like it. Just a suggestion - I read the reviews before I bought it and went ahead and got some velcro before it came in. I attached the soft side of the velcro to my flash, the hooked part to the inside of the diffuser. That baby doesn't move an inch. I started doing club photographer recently and my photos look like I've been shooting in that environment for years... get it
