Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Opteka MP100 67" Professional Heavy Duty Photo / Video MonopodCustomer Review: pretty strong and sturdy for the $$$. Summary: 5 Stars
Not knowing fully what I was getting into, on a whim I purchased this monopod hoping that is was a half-way decent product, I mean-it was so cheap. I was pleasantly surprised to find how sturdy the unit was and that what I had was a very high quality monopod. This was my second monopod and so I had another to compare it with (the other was bought on an auction website). In comparison the Opteka was a far better monopod in height and robust thickness and I use it exclusively on my miniDV shoots.
Customer Review: Excellent Item Summary: 5 Stars
This is such an excellent item. It is a great monopod. Wished it had a monopod cap. It has helped to steady my nervous hand. It also doubles as a walking stick and triples as a billy club-though I havent used it as that yet. But I walk alone with my expensive camera and muggers will think twice. When I open it fully up it extends taller than me. A pivoting head would have been nice but for 12 dollars who can complain. It is a writst strap and an excellent carrying case. And I received it on time.
Customer Review: Great Product Good Value Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted a monopod for basic use. This gives me more. The value and quality of this product compares with others I have seen costing sometimes twice as much. It adjusts well and is very easy to use. In its bag its small and light enough not to be a problem. The bag is a bonus as most I looked at do not have one. I use it for both video and still camera shots and its great. I am not a pro but this gives me better shots without the blurs and movement of zoom video and long distant still photo's.
Customer Review: Well Made Monopod for $13 Summary: 5 Stars
This is a sturdily made aluminum monopod. Its not the lightest, nor the best made but the locks are sturdy, the legs are strong and it provides a secure attachment to my Flashpoint Ballhead and D300. I looked at more expensive monopods, but with the reivews I read I couldn't justify spending more. Thus far I am extremely satisfied with this product. Delivery was excellent also. If I run into any problems I will update this review.
At this price its a steal.
Customer Review: Great bargain monopod! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as a backup to our aging all metal pro quality monopod that we've had had for over twenty years. I was surprised at how well built it was and how stable it was considering its price. It holds our D-SLR and 70-300mm lens just fine, and the foam grip makes holding at in the cold (especially at hockey rinks) very comfortable. The quick latches for adjusting hight work quite well and are secure. We've retired the old monopod and have switched to this full time.
