I looked around at electronics and home theater stores and could not find this for less than $560 + tax and I had a friend spend $680 + tax for his. I picked it up on Amazon for $273. This mount is very easy to hang with a little ingenuity. My wall was built for these types of wall mounts with reinforcing studs, etc... But, I still installed a piece of 3/4" plywood onto the studs and mounted the mount to that, just to be sure. If you are DIY inclined, this should be no problem to hang. I, personally, would never pay someone to do what I could do myself, but, if you don't feel comfortable coming up with a way to mount it on your wall, have the home theater store's installations guys do it or pick their brain like I did to install it yourself. As far as the TV mount itself? Top notch, they don't build them any better. It handles my 52" Sony with ease. I don't mind paying a little more for quality and I did research a little before buying here. This is the best mount out there for large LCDs and Plasmas and I found it at a bargain price to boot. This is one heavy-duty mount! It weighs as much as my 52" LCD TV! It does just about everything and does it well. There is very little to complain about, so I will complain only about the little stuff. Your studs better be within about 3/4 inch of 16 inch center, however there is no need for them to be centered at (what will be) the center of the TV. There is plenty of side-to-side adjustment. My biggest complaint is the manual; it is horrible. Make sure you download the latest from their website, it is a tiny bit better, but still severely lacking. The manual is written in 27 different languages, so each instruction is only one line, with almost no explanations. They really need an English-only-manual with better explanation. They provide so much variety of hardware that you will have a nice collection of leftover parts and tools to add to your toolbox when done. You will need a long-handle metric socket set with 17mm socket in order to install the 6 lag bolts (and some muscle!) Stronger than a Formula 1 Front End....I wanted to wall-mount a 50" plasma TV and a Yamaha Sound Projector (total of 145lbs). This is a very strong, high quality product, beautifully engineered and was very easy to mount.... It will take two people to lift a 50" Plasma into position. Instructions were clear, and the manufacturer included all the necessary templates and hardware (you can start a hardware store with what is left over). Once mounted, it is very stable and easy to adjust, it adjusts in multapal planes(left to right, tilt, pan, roll, in and out). The wishbone extension can hold the TV as close to the wall as 5", or as far as 28". This allows to have several distinct seating areas in your living room, front and sides.
Think of it as if you bought an new 2500.00 Les Paul guitar.... Do you spend 25.00 on a cheap cover case or do you buy an 250.00 Anvil guitar case that gives you piece of mind knowing that you baby is safe no matter what happen (including a earthquake or hurricane).

I purchased this mount for use with my 42" Samsung LCD tv about six months ago. Overall, I really like the versatility of this mount with the ability to swing a full 180 degrees as well as tilt. Moving the unit away/toward the wall takes a bit more effort than I would have expected, but can be accomplished with one person. The biggest difference I've noticed compared to the tilt-only mount I replaced is that the unit sticks out a bit more from the wall when pushed back fully flush. I guess this is to be expected given the two arms and all, but it didn't occur to me when I bought the mount. Installation went smoothly, but is easier with two people. Also, unless you have a full set of drill bits, plan on buying a large bit to drill pilot holes for the wall anchor bolts, as they are quite large. Although this unit is pricey, in hindsight I wish I had purchased it when I purchased the television because this mount is much more versatile then the basic-tilt models that run between $100-$200.Customer Review: Extremely sturdy and simple device

Received and installed same day, did alone, but a helper would not be a bad idea. Hard to follow directions, not well photo'd or written, thank goodness for finished photo on box. It took about an hour to complete (after perusing the instructions to not much avail). This unit fits the bill, even when fully extended, very sturdy, this being a big concern as I have grandkids and pets, not to mention cost of the tv. Simply mount one pre-assembled section to back of tv in pre-threaded holes, and other half to wall, make sure into studs,(open holes up) then set both pieces together. (You will now realize importance of open holes "up" on the portion mounted to wall). Then simply tighten the 4 remaining bolts, and viola. Our tv is 50" and weighs 93 lbs. I paid about the same, retail, for this as I did for much smaller and less functional unit used for smaller tv in other room. I give this unit my nod of approval, as well as 5 Amazon stars. (if you are an instruction freak), maybe 4.9 stars).
