I just built a room from scratch and with the bare new walls i wanted to set up a nice area to watch TV and as well account for a new baby coming along. I needed a shelf that can be put anywhere especially high above the reach of a child. Settled on this product.
Received it immediately, even before said delivery date. Hopes were high from the get go. Since I had already known where the studs where it was really easy to do that aspect of it, installing into stud. I WOULD RECOMMEND ONLY INSTALLING INTO STUD .. no anchoring. I used about 2inch Steel Lag Screws to screw it into the stud and i'm telling you you can hang off the damn thing, the reason i didn't use the screws that came with the product was simply wanted a little more trusted stability with my equipment if its going to be 6ft off the floor. There screws might be fine, but i just opted for mine right off the bat.
Thing looks so beautiful, i have now ordered 4 of these shelfs and installed 2 for my parents house as well! The product is totally legit and seriously at this price its a damn steal!

We have been very happy with this purchase - especially at the price. We installed it in our bedroom holding a DirecTV receiver next to a plasma TV, and it looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed to hook up additional components. Our satellite receiver is light enough, that it wouldn't be a problem to add another light component such as a DVD player to this same shelf.
It was very easy to install, and love the look of the glass shelf and black hardware along with our black satellite receiver and black TV. As others have stated, it does stick out a little further from the wall than I'd prefer, but nothing we can't live with. We also purchased cable organizer track at a local home improvement store to cover the cables, painted it to match the walls, and everything looks very nice.

This product was the first that I bought from OmniMount. The instructions were fairly easily to follow and the installation process was pretty straight forward. The steel and glass portions of the shelf were very well made and provide a very sturdy platform for our DVD player and cable TV box. The plastic facade pieces are poorly designed and fall off or come loose it lightly bumped. Luckily, these plastic parts are only for show and are not integral to the performance of the product.
This was great for mounting our DVD player and Cable TV boxes out of the reach of our 20 month old twins who love to push buttons.
Great product. Too bad that the cable management kit that you can buy in addition to this shelf are such poor quality. See my review of that item for more information.

I highly recommend this product. It is the perfect size for my surround sound receiver/dvd player. It does stick out from the wall quite a bit, but if you account for this and swivel it accordingly it fits nicely. Due to the (absurd) way that my apartment is built, I had no choice but to mount it on the side of the wall, so the swiveling aspect of the shelf makes it actually fit nicely, and it doesn't stick out as much. I have the aforementioned surround sound receiver/dvd player, as well as a Directv receiver on it with no problems. I have a spare computer and sub sitting underneath with a plethora of wires that I was able to hide pretty nicely with the use of ties and a few pieces of tape.
All in all a great buy!

This product lives up to the high reviews if you are looking for a study and stylish wall mounted glass shelf. It is much sturdier than I thought even after reading all the positive reviews. However, if you think you can mount this item without pre-drilling or using a power drill you may want to think again. The bolts/screws are very big and you must use a power drill if you are going to mount them in studs(which is recommended). I thought I could muscle the screws in but I ended up having to buy a power drill. For the price, I don't really have anything but positive things to say about the shelf. It holds my projector and I'm not worried about it falling down.
