This works great as a way to support the cable box on top of a Sony 27 in WEGA CRT TV. Had to use it the way the instructions state as the "upside down" method led to the legs being too short to level the shelf. The Sony offers some complications as it does not have any flat surfaces on the top of the TV, but the shelf bridges just fine. Great product, very sturdy.

This unit can be utilized proper if you know how to install it properly. I tried to use it upside down like someone else mentioned and it worked. You just have to mess around with it and be patient. I didnt even buy it on-line because of all the positive/negative comments. I bought it form CC and i count be happier. Great unit!

This is a great center-channel speaker solution for all the DLP, LCD, and LCOS sets that are out there. The shelf comes in both black and gray/silver, so make sure you order the one you need. (This one is the black one!) Also, as another reviewer mentioned, mounting the shelf upside down may be a better solution for you, as it was for me.

After I purchased my Panasonic 44" LCD projection TV I could no longer place my center channel speaker on top of the TV like I did with my old CRT projection TV. The OmniMount shelf worked perfectly and was a much better application for me than trying to wall mount it. Shelf quality is very good and installation was easy.
