Customer Review: Worked out pretty good.
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchased through Amazon.com. I got quick delivery and the shelf worked out great for my DVD and VCR players, (yes, I still have a VCR). Once you get it adjusted right and put on the adhesive foot pads it is very stable and solid on top of the T.V. I would suggest checking the parts list, all the parts are there, but the 2 short spacers are screwed onto the feet and look like one piece. You have to unscrew them to shorten the foot sections and screw on the legs. Do not put the adhesive pads on until you are absolutely sure it is level, screws tightened and centered on the top of the T.V., because once it set in place with the adhesive pads release paper removed there is no moving it around for adjustment. You get one shot at placement. My 42" Sony Wega LCD has a steep back on it and I had to use the long set of legs, the forward mounting holes in the shelf and remove the little lock nuts on the foot sections to get that little bit to make it level. Trial and error test fitting is the only way to go to get it right. Instructions could be better, but as far as the unit itself, it is strong and well made and should hold most anything you want to put on it, within reason. Try to keep most of the weight forward and not sitting on the back edge of the platform for safety's sake.
I am very satisfied with the purchase and the price, plus delivery was fast (4 - days).

Another note:
To all the folks that don't use all 4 adhesive pads, 2 on the rear feet and 2 under the front lip that sits on top of the screen. The pads keep the legs from sliding down the slope on the back of your set causing bending and breaking off. Disaster in the making. The front ones help keep the front edge down so it resists tilting back or sliding if the weight is not balanced. If you are worried about removing the adhesive pads later for some reason, just use a common hair drier to warm up the pads and they should peel off without any damage to the finish or the back of the set. Adhesives soften with a little heat. The pads assure the stability and strength of the platform and becomes a rigid part of the set.

Customer Review: Some assembly required
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm running a Klipsch center on top of a Mitsubishi 65" DLP, and because of an intelligent design by Klipsch I didn't really need this shelf until my cat decided the speaker wire was a new toy for her. Anyhow I digress, the shelf is sturdy and goes together easily. Once set in place its readily apparent what everone is complaining about with the front 2 silver support rods. I don't agree with the solution of another user about flipping it upside down since the front lip is there to keep your equipment from sliding off the front (accidents happen and my TV screen now has a scratch to prove Murphy's Law). Here's my suggestion:

1) MEASURE the thickness of your screens upper frame (mine is 3/8").
2) If you kept the small spacers that were originally attached to the leveling feet; screw the rods into the spacer to protect the threads from damage during the rest of this process.
3) Cut the rod down measuring from the threaded edge to match. If you marred the surface in your vise or plier its not a problem since the next step is to rough up the surface.
4) Using a grinder gently smooth any high spots you may have caused, then sand the rest of the surface with a medium grit paper.
5) Get a can of black appliance enamel spray paint. Available at most paint supply stores.
6) Using several light coats cover the entire surface and let dry over night.
7) Remove rod from spacer. Using a utility knife to pre-score the edge where the rod and spacer meet.

And voila! You now have front rods that won't invade your screen and almost disappear completely while watching, but still are fully functional!

Only complaint is the included "rubber" pads that you are meant to attach to the leveling feet. They've got adhesive on both sides so if you use them then the shelf is, more or less, permenantly mounted to your TV. The shelf seems to work fine without them, but its better piece-of-mind to have a bit more friction back there.

Customer Review: ***Use it with your PS3/XBOX/Wii***
Summary: 5 Stars

I used the "upside down" technique that was talked about in one of the most helpful reviews listed. Since my TV is slim, the back legs do no "clamp" against the back, but the front lip does hook under the tv lip where the screen ends and the plastic frame of the tv begins. I have my PS3 on the floor, which looks terrible when you have a nice setup and a nice entertainment center, but with this beauty mounted inverted, it now has the center channel in the front and the PS3 behind it. It basically hides the PS3 and the wires behind it. I have a 42" Panasonic TV and it looks very slick like a floating platform above the TV with a true center sound now. My wife loves that it hides my "gaming thingy" as we are in our 30s and not trying to show off my video game system to our friends and family :) It was either this, or PS3 in the bedroom and buying a new Blu-Ray in the living room. This shelf has given me the best of both worlds!

Customer Review: Works with Samsung LN52A650 with Sony HTCT 100!
Summary: 5 Stars

To my amazement, this speaker shelf works with Samsung LN52A650 LCD TV. The TV is only about 4 in thick.

Like some posters had written, I mounted this shelf up side down and initially, was not too sure if it will hold up. After getting the correct position, it holds the center sound box of Sony HTCT100 very well and the sound is much improved.

After turning the shelf up side down, I put the legs at the 5th hole counting from lateral edges and 9th hole from front (counting from the first row). The legs are then extended all the way down to the back of the tv. With the shelf up side down, the front edge is anchored to the top of the TV. I put the sticking pads in the front to minimize scratch also.

Hope this review would help someone to set up the speaker shelf.

Customer Review: Excellent quality - missing pegs might be operator error
Summary: 5 Stars

I read the reviews here on Amazon before ordering. I decided to get the shelf anyway, figuring if there were missing parts I could just have them mailed to me. Sure enough, I opened the box and I could not find the front feet. It seemed odd to me that they were ALL missing the same front pegs so I looked carefully.

The people who package this thing screw the front legs (pegs) to the rear swivel feet for some dopey reason. My guess is that most of the reports of missing front pegs are just a case of not finding them. (I was seconds from giving up when I spotted them)

Anyway, the shelf is really nice. The metal is heavy enough and feels "solid". The assembly went smoothly (once I found the pegs). The shelf is a real bargain at this price and nearly invisible on the tv with a speaker on it.
