I bought a Samsung BDP1600 Blu-Ray player from Amazon and one of the pleasant surprises was how well that unit up-converts non-HD signals. As I have added other media sources (HD cable, Apple TV, Netflix, etc) I have run out of HDMI terminals on my TV. I looked at a lot of switches, but often the feedback from prior users cited degraded or erratic signal quality.... I sure didn't want to lose the upgrade I'd gotten with the Samsung Blu-Ray. The feedback for the OPPO seemed to be the best, and I've heard good things about their other gear so I took the plunge. I also bought new v.1.3/Cat 2 HDMI cables from Amazon; very good value. I have had this unit installed for about a month and tested it vs. a direct connection to the back of the TV and I can't see a difference..... which makes me happy. Set-up was quick and easy and the remote works well.... but boy is it easy to lose in the sofa.Customer Review: Can't beat it for the money!

I ordered the OPPO HDMI switch box and 2 Belkin HDMI Cables all for $124 and received free shipping from Amazon. I really couldn't be happier with the switch box it was a breeze to install and the picture quality is great! I'm using it with my Dish Network VIP722DVR, Xbox 360 with my Samsung 1080i LCD TV which only had one HDMI connection before the OPPO swticher arrived. This is a very solid piece of video hardware no frills but looks nice and works great! It's about the size of a VCR tape if you were wondering. Just remember it does not come with a HDMI cable. I was kinda worried about loosing picture quality using a switch box but I see no loss at all it looks great! I checked the local stores looking for a switcher in most cases they were more money. So do yourself a favor if you need more HDMI inputs on your TV and get yourself an OPPO switcher you won't be sorry!Customer Review: Set it & forget it...

After setting my HT system I ran into a huge problem. I hooked up all my HDMI devices to my Yamaha receiver with the HDMI output of the receiver connected to the projector. However, when playing HD discs on the computer I would get an error "Your device is an HDMI repeater...". Connecting the PC directly to the projector avoided this issue. But, that meant that I'd to have one HDMI connection directly from the PC to the projector, a optical audio output for PC audio to the receiver, & another HDMI connection from the receiver to the projector (for everything else).
Amazingly, this one OPPO device changed all that! Now, I have both the PC & the receiver connected to the OPPO & a single HDMI going to the projector. The remote for OPPO is really redundant b/c it automatically switches when it detects an input signal. This device is highly recommended.

I received mine just yesterday, so I will update the review if something goes wrong -
When you open up the box, you'll immediately see the difference in the workmanship of the product - this is a good looking piece that will match well with any home system, should you choose to leave it out (it is small enough to place behind a cabinet or the TV). Once out of the box, it is a snap to hookup: One HDMI cable from the TV to the Output, and then 1 HDMI for each component being used to the three inputs. It literally took me less then 10 minutes to hookup my TV to the Directv and my Sony Blu-ray. I also have a Harmony Remote which I programmed (although I may have not needed it due to the system default). It worked right away with no handshake issues or noticeable loss of picture quality. I will post back in a week after use -

- All the important Features have already been described very well. I have been VERY IMPRESSED with the OPPO Product lines, and this one does not disappoint.
I haven't found anything that WORKS so Impressively!
I gave it a 4.8 Star Rating as the only little issue is the AC Plug-in to the unit, is a bit 'flimsy' and just slightly moving the Small, Sleek, Book-Guide Sized Switch, makes the switch re-boot.
I am following-up with OPPO tech support, on this small issue.
Other than that, it's an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE, Hands-Down, as part of your HDMI Home Theater Arsenal. It simply 'switches' Automatically between whatever HDMI DEVICES (Blu-ray player and HD Cable Modem for me), without any Video or Sound LOSS ... that' so COOOOOL!
Up to 3 HDMI devices (Inputs) + 1 HDMI (out-put) to your HDTV.
