Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of OCZ 2GB PC2-5400 667MHz DDR2 Value SoDIMM Module (OCZ2MV6672G)Customer Review: Follow the instructions! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of those products where everyone who says they got a broken one just did not install it properly. Just enter the bios with [F2] and disable quick boot before you install it. After it has booted up once you can go into the bios again and enable quick boot. With quick boot enabled, it does not actually check how much memory it has installed, so it will stay at 1 GB.
The product works great and with windows XP, you can actually see a difference in performance. If you like to have multiple programs open at once, this product will noticeably help. I would recommend it.
Customer Review: 2GB SODIMM Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this memory module at the same time as I bought a Eee notebook computer. I performed the 1GB memory replacement with the 2GB SODIMM easily.
The most confusing part was getting the computer and operating system to recognize the presence of the additional memory. It required a boot into the BIOS to let the hardware recognize and update plug and play info.
On the Eee computer, using F2 on a cold restart did the job. No manual changes were made to the BIOS. The process was automatic. A simple save and exit following the bootup did the job.
Customer Review: Super-Easy Upgrade for Asus 1000HE Summary: 5 Stars
If you're a bit squeemish about upgrading your RAM stick, don't be. You can see precisely how no-sweat a process this is, by running a search at YouTube for: Installing 2GB of RAM . I believe the first result is the 45 second clip which calmed my own nerves long enough to place the order for the OCZ module.
It bears repetition: When you boot up post-upgrade, keep punching the F2 key, which gets you to the BIOS screen. Once there, you'll see that the 1000HE recognizes the new 2g stick. Then hit F10 to save and exit.
Worthy upgrade. Good price!
Customer Review: Tips for installing it Summary: 5 Stars
Works great, but it is irritating that there are no instructions.
When you remove the old memory, pay careful attention to the angle at which it pops out and make sure to insert this new memory firmly at that angle. When clicked into place you can feel the spring tension. After that just rescrew the cover and turn on the computer, works great. If you don't insert at the proper angle but try to do flat, the computer will not work at all -- the little flickering light on the cover stays off. Get the angle and spring tension right and it works great!
Customer Review: Great upgrade for EEE PC 1000h Summary: 5 Stars
I got this to upgrade to replace my new Asus EEE PC 1000h's 1gb chip. There is a very noticeable improvement in the speed of a lot of operations including Firefox and MS Word. A free benchmarking tool bumped the total score from an 80 to 135, making the 1000h as good as a full size Toshiba Satellite laptop running a AMD 6400 dual core! It doesn't seem to significantly affect the the battery life one way or another. This is my second OCZ memory upgrade, the first one worked out great too. I'm very pleased with this purchase!
