Customer Review: Great Update for the 1000HE!

I recently purchased the 1000HE and upon doing so, also purchased this OCZ 2GB memory upgrade. After receiving both items, I immediately upgraded the Asus 1000HE with the 2GB before booting the system for the first time.
Many users here who upgraded their 1000 series devices are right in first booting up to the system's BIOS by pressing F2 for the computer to recogize the RAM. The 1000HE recognized the 2GB with no problem, and after saving the BIOS configuration, proceeded to boot into Windows XP flawlessly with 2GB of recognized on board RAM.
For those who are interested, this RAM is perfect for those who wish to use the 1000 EEEPC series for Windows 7. I'm currently running 2GB of RAM in Windows 7 with no page file, and have yet to max out the RAM. I tried to max out the RAM by running 3 Firefox windows, Photoshop CS3, Sony SoundForge, 5 pdfs, 5 Word documents, and 3 Powerpoints simultaneously, which all lead to about 1.4GB of ram with enough to spare for other applications. Clearly, having this upgrade will help multiple programs run simultaneously without a problem. On average, Windows 7 uses approximately 900MB of RAM out of the available 2GB for my applications and daily use. Boot up of the system and programs from a cold start such as Word 2007, Powerpoint 2007, are VERY FAST (approximately 3-5 sec), at least in comparison to my old dv1000 with 2GB of RAM.
With the price of this RAM ($14 after rebate), it's definitely worth the investment to boost system perforamce (Asus 1000HE).
