Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Nyrius NY-GS3200 5.8GHz 6 Channel Wireless Audio/Video Sender Transmitter & Receiver System with IR Remote Extender

Customer Review: Great Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Have had the product for only two days, so cannot vouch for long term performance. I tried the Terk Leapfrong 2.4GHz, and had unresolvable interference problems. I thought maybe the more-than-double transmission rate might solve the problem, and it did, flawlessly. I get great picture and sound on any of the four available channels. The IR extender works fine, and the receiver, which picks up remote control signals, is very flexible in terms of line-of-sight. I have DirecTV HD DVR sat box, and I can control ALL functions from the audio-video wireless receiver location, including all menus, quick channel selection mode, replay of recorded source material, etc. using a Logitech Harmony One Universal remote. Obviously, since the device uses RCA cables to hook up to source and to receiving TV, I do not get HD picture, but on a small, 15" screen, that's not a problem. The IR extender "mouse" transmits IR signal perfectly, and merely needs to be somewhere in the general vicinity of the sat box IR receiving window.
I note from Amazon info that this unit is sold by Shoptronics, the device itself carries a "made in China" tag, but nowhere on either packaging or on the brief User's Manual or on the device itself is a manufacturer's name. Strange. This thing works so well, I would think someone would want to take credit for it.

Customer Review: Great system for all applications
Summary: 5 Stars

This system isn't bad. It's like the Generic version of the RF link version. Over all it seems solid. There are 4 frequency's you can choose. It doesn't interfere with Wireless N products, but I did notice it had issues with my 5.8GHZ phone system. The first 3 frequency's didn't work, it had static in the image. I did unplug my phone system and it seems to correct it, but I needed it to work with the phone system on. So I changed it to the 4th frequency and it worked perfectly. How I have it set up is, I have it hooked to the back on my Verizon FiOS DVR. The transmitter with tucked behind the TV with an IR bug attached to the front of the DVR. I placed the receiver up stairs in the master bedroom. The remote works flawlessly and can turn on and off the box and control all of the DVR settings from upstairs. If I paid Verizon for this, it would cost me $19.99 for the multiroom DVR and another $9.99 for the HD box upstairs. That's $30.....now keep in mind, the upstairs in not in HD but it's not a main TV either, so I don't care. It's only a 26" LED LCD. My downstairs is a 56" HDTV. So, I only pay $16 for the DVR and it saving me so much money. Now I can enjoy DVR upstairs or downstairs. It's amazing.

Customer Review: Terrific Product -
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a terrific product! I bought it to send a TV signal from a conference room to an office that is approximately 200 feet away. Using the 5.8GHz version the wireless connection works perfectly, and the signal is penetrating several thick walls along the way. This product saved me a small fortune in construction costs to run wires though a fixed ceiling.

Readers of this review should know that I received this message from the seller today: "We want you to share your opinion of this product with others, and as a token of our appreciation, you will have the option to choose between two rewards! All you have to do is write a review of the GS3200 on Amazon, and we will send you a free 1 year extended warranty or a coupon for $[...]off any item on [...]"... So I visited this page to get my reward, but it really is an excellent solution... and will be even lower cost than I thought once I get the $[...]!! In addition it was shipped promptly, arrived new in the box, well packaged and was an easy transaction. I would buy from ShopTronics via Amazon again.

Best,
Evan

Customer Review: It just works
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading some of the other reviews, I got a pretty solid sense of what kind of audio/video quality I could expect, but only a so-so take on the remote extender. Once I'd received it, I set everything up, and the A/V quality came across pretty much exactly as I'd expected it, but the instructions for the remote extender were vague, so I didn't grasp them right off the bat. If I could rewrite their instructions, I'd simply say "Point the remote extender mouse toward the remote IR receivers of the devices you want to use remotes for." Confusion ended.

Anyway, in short, from my own experience, mind you, this is a solution which is simple to set up (as easy as hooking up an old dvd player), works as advertised right out of the box, reliably, with as good of quality one could expect from an RF link (it isn't HDMI, but that's not what I was after). I plugged it into a Comcast HD digital DVR, and the remote extender works just as well in my bedroom as it did pointing it right at the receiver in my living room. This was a zero regret purchase for me.

Customer Review: Fits the need perfectly
Summary: 5 Stars

Got a new HD TV with less than adequate sound. Our real sound system is located across the room and no way to easily run wires from the TV to it. This transmitter and receiver perfectly fills the need and we now enjoy CD quality sound from TV programs. We have a wireless router (in very close proximity) and several other interference generators but after a couple of months use there is absolutely NO interference from anything. Lip sync appears to be perfect, it its wrong it is from the cable company that way as verified on another TV in the house. We only use it for stereo audio and have never tried the video or remote relay. Only needed to get one adapter to get from the line out on the TV to the audio in on the transmitter. It comes with standard RCA phono stereo patch cords with the third video cord we used from the receiver to preamp. Both units are relatively small are easily hid from direct view.

I would recommend this product to anyone with similar needs (already have) and would not hesitate to buy another set if needed.
