Description of JobSite LST-CTR In-Wall Center Channel Speaker, White (Single)For accurate home theater reproduction from in-wall locations Specially configured to reproduce the dialogue in a home theater speaker system, the JobSite LST-CTR center channel speaker installs unobtrusively in the wall, where it delivers crisp, rich sound without taking up valuable floor or shelf space. The mounting cutout measures 13.25 by 7.12 inches and sits 3.12 inches deep--a manageable size that easily holds the 14.5-by-8.25-inch speaker frame. Inside the speaker, meanwhile, sits dual 5.25-inch mica-filled polypropylene woofers with butyl rubber surrounds and a 1-inch liquid-cooled ElastoDynamic dome tweeter. The drivers combine to produce pleasing mids and intense highs, with an impressive (for a wall speaker) 45 Hz to 21 kHz frequency response. The drivers are also magnetically shielded, so you can install the speaker near any TV--including directly underneath a flat panel monitor--without distorting the image. The speaker comes with all the necessary hardware for installation, including system mounting hardware for new or retrofit construction, a mounting template, and a paint mask. The latter item is handy for users who want to paint the white frames to match or contrast with their wall color. The LST-CTR also offers a few extras above and beyond most in-wall speakers. The rear crossover switch, for instance, lets users activate the Off-Axis Compensation feature, which adjusts the sound when the speaker is installed in an "off-center" location compared to the TV. Should the treble or bass sound a bit too high or low, listeners can depress the front-panel Treble and Bass Cut switches, which help overcome diffraction from nearby hallways or corners. The speaker even includes a front-mounted Dialogue Enhance switch. The speaker terminals accommodate up to 12-gauge speaker wire (not included), which is best for speakers located within 30 feet of the receiver (for distances over 30 feet, listeners should consider 10-gauge cable). Additional features include a rustproof aluminum grille, a rigid-braced ABS speaker baffle, moisture- and UV-resistant construction, and a recommended power handling of 10 to 150 watts. The speaker comes with a five-year warranty on parts and labor. Note: JobSite recommends having the following tools on hand for installation: a stud locator, drywall saw, pencil, cordless Phillips screwdriver, two 1/8-inch slotted screwdrivers, wire stripper, and wire labels. In addition, it's difficult to move or reposition the speaker once the cutout is made, so listeners are advised to take their time when determining the ideal listening location. What's in the Box Speaker, speaker frame, grille, bracket, two wings for new construction, six 1.62-inch Phillips head drywall screws, cutout template, user's manual.
