Customer Review: Best remote extender ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you have a need to control devices from a distance, this is the product for you.
Install the transmitter in the battery compartment of your standard remote, place the receiver near the devices to be controlled, and you are done!

No need to spend more money on a new remote, train a remote and no need to position a relay component in the room that you are controlling the device from.

This thing is amazing that it internally picks up the remote signal, and turns it into RF for transmission to the extender receiver.

The IR is strong on the receiver end, and basically just needs to be in the same room as the devices to control. (it also comes with the wired extender if you need to place the control on the front of a device.

You can control multiple devices from the same receiver, and use the original remote controls too.

I am controlling a Direct Tivo from a room 3 floor's up on the opposite end of the house, and from 3 separate locations with 3 separate remotes. Distance is great.
I use the same receiver to control an outdoor sound system, using the factory remote.

If you want to use more devices, just purchase the additional transmitters to put in your remote controls.

This is an outstanding device that is extremely simple to setup and use.

Two thumbs up!!

Customer Review: Next Gen Remote Extender is Highly Recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife and I wanted to go with the sleek look and put our home theater components in another room (out of sight). Having the TV on the wall with no clutter is the way to go! Initially I was thinking about getting the $400 Logitech Harmony 900 Remote Control (Black) with built-in RF capabilities, but after coming to my senses, I figured I'd go low-budget instead and settle for the $35 Next Generation Remote Control Extender.

I just wanted to write a review to tell everyone how great this is and don't bother buying the Logitech. The biggest pro: you can use this with your Comcast cable remote without having to aim at anything. The battery-looking RF transmitter inside the remote sends the signal through my wall to my Comcast cable box. It works so good, it's as if I was aiming at the cable box in front of my face. The biggest negative: you have to buy an NGHP LRRX-2 AAA-TX (Extra RF Transmitter For 433 MHz) at ~$25 for each remote you want to use. In my case, I'm happy just using it with my Comcast cable, but I might buy an RF transmitter for my DVD player and Audio Amp in the near future.

This is the first time I've truly felt the need to write a review about a product. I couldn't recommend more highly!

Customer Review: Although I did not expect this thing to work, it is fantastic
Summary: 5 Stars

In short, it works so good you can completely forget you are signaling over RF.

This simple, elegant, hiqh-quality solution turns any remote into an RF remote. I use it to RF control my Tivo HD DVR and my Pioneer A/V receiver/amp. I replaced one of the 4 AA batteries in my Tivo remote with the special RF battery and tada! I've used it for many weeks on a single battery charge. I do not detect any delay introduced by the RF! It's that good.

I've used it with and without the extender emitter cable--both work flawless. If you have a situation that allows you to place the puck a few feet in front of your equipment, that's all you need. If, like most I imagine, you want to hide the puck and need to use the extender emitter cable, the included emitter cable only has one node--stupid. Most people will want at least 2 and probably 3 or more emitters. So do yourself a favor and pick up 3 eye cable when you order this.

The only other RF remote control solution I tried was the $400 Logitech touchscreen remote with RF extender. The Logitech solution sucks, and if you want one, I'll sell you the whole mess for $100 because it's sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

Customer Review: Works Great!!! for blueray through false wall
Summary: 5 Stars

I had my doubts and was nervous to even purchase. I set up a blueray player behind a false wall (drywall on one side only and no insulation) for my new flat screen hanging on the wall. Everything would be perfect as long as the signal would work for my blue-ray. I was pleasantly surprise at the great functionality. The signal goes right through the wall no problem and with no delay! This is very easy to use, no "signal matching" required, and easy to change the batteries. The sleeves slide off the batteries very easily b/c the designers left plenty of room for a finger grip when removing the pre-charged battery. You literally just "plug and play" this repeater and it could not be easier to use. The little signal "eye" that you plug in can be just set by your player and does not need to be stuck on, but this helps for cord management. The "eye" cord is very long so you could put the spaceship in the best location and the "eye" will stretch over to your player. This was very helpful when placing behind my wall; which is the pantry and there are lots of other kitchen items I needed to work around. I needed the extra line to place everything just right. I would recommend to anyone with my same set up and I am curious to try other set-ups with the same repeater. You need to try it to believe!!

Customer Review: Absolutely amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

This remote extender is absolutely great.
Since the radio emitter goes inside the remote control itself, it occupies no space. Plus, it work from any room inside the house.
Tried it with DirecTV's white remote and several others and it works perfectly .

Pros: Tiny; no cabling; low cost; no aiming with the remote at an IR receptor; works from any room; IR emitter seems to be omni directional, at least at a short range.

Cons: Power supply is only for 120VAC (not suited for those of us abroad the US); Supplied 2/3 size AAA batteries seem to be of poor quality. I'd be able to tell some time from now.

Overall: great product.

Addendum: After a couple of years the rechargeable batteries still hold, even though they look cheap.

Added 18/MAY/2010:
Beware of the slightly recesed positive terminal in the emitter. If the battery contact in the remote control is not reliable enough (especially those consisting of a curled spring like wire) the emitter can get short circuited. If so, the rechargeable battery might get hot. In my case the battery got hot and apparently got soldered to the emitter. Both battery and emitter got ruined.

Anyway this product is so great that I'm ordering a new unit.
