Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NETGEAR GS108 ProSafe 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Desktop SwitchCustomer Review: Great cheap Gigabit switch Summary: 5 Stars
I don't like netgear and D-link routers much.. as many of them have died on me and have problems with them... but netgear does make great switches. I have been using netgear switches for 15 years and they are great sturdy and fast switches. The only thing is that on some of my much older (13/15 year old switches) models, the AC adapter has gone bad, but the switches themselves have taking many harsh environments and have lived to this day.

Netgear GS108 ProSafe 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch
2 minutes to connect it to my setup, and it was all done.
Works flawlessly and also helped overcome the router limited number of external Ethernet connectors.
My internal network works a lot faster!
I almost forgot it's there :-)
Customer Review: Still the best cheap desktop switches Summary: 5 Stars
Netgear's line of metal switches and hubs has always been an affordable, dependable product. I am glad to see that they haven't abandoned this format in favor of the plastic so many other companies are using.
I bought a couple of these for work when a group decided they needed to cram three conference rooms full of people on short notice. Netgear was the only product I trusted to work, and they didn't let me down.
Customer Review: It's a fast desktop switch. Simple like a hammer Summary: 5 Stars
It's a gigabit ethernet switch. Plug in the power, plug in the devices, and away it goes. Great for a small office environment. I like the way Netgear does the LED's on their switches. The auto-sensing ports are a blessing that is pretty much expected these days. A nice change from the times of uplink ports and/or crossover cables.
I'm very happy with this item and think it's great for most office environments.
Customer Review: Best unmanaged switch you can get. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm upgrading from an older 10/100 Netgear 8-port switch, so as comparisons go, I'm perfectly happy. I'm very happy about being able to increase the Jumbo Frame size so that those Gigabit speeds go even faster. I also like that actual switch form factor size is smaller than my older model.
The next 'upgrade' would be to get a managed switch to do VLANs and such, but for a SOHO product this does great.
