Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NETGEAR GS105 ProSafe 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch - 10/100/1000 Mbps

Customer Review: Excellent gigabit ethernet switch.
Summary: 5 Stars

The Netgear GS105 is an excellent business grade unmanaged gigabit switch. Just plug it in and forget about it. It's business grade features assure top performance and reliability, including store and forward, auto speed and crossover on all ports. I use this unit along with the GS108 switches and have never had a single problem.

Customer Review: Works like a charm!
Summary: 5 Stars

This switch is small, fast, easy to set-up, easy to use, and works like a charm right out of the box. It is the definition of "Plug-and-play." Plug it in. Hook up your cables, and you're ready to go. I have been using it for almost 5 months now and haven't had a moments problem. It's reliable. I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Plug 'n play gigabit simplicity
Summary: 5 Stars

As the title suggests, it's as simple as plugging in the cables & off you go. I have mine mounted on a wall in my basement, so heat, as others have stated, isn't an issue. This device is the interface between my PS3 & PC, & I've noticed a huge performance difference between this & my Linksys WRT54G I was using before.

Customer Review: Works exactly as advertised
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this switch - used a 3 ft x-over cable to connect to router and voila, had more ports available than I could use (at present). Really like the 1-light for 100mb, 2-lights for giga. Just one of those items that you pull out of the box, hook up and it works quietly (no fans) and reliably.

Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

I had my 5-port switch up and running in about 30 seconds. The great thing about a switch versus a hub is that a switch keeps all of the local internet traffic between local computers in the switch. A hub will send ALL traffic upstream to your modem, thereby causing WWW traffic slowdowns.
