With so many A/V devices being internet capable now, a switch like this is a must. With a internet capable TV, Blu-Ray player, Xbox, and DISH DVR this small switch provides a perfect way to easily connect them to my DSL connection.
Set-up was as simple as plugging it all in. Seriously, that's all.
The footprint of the switch is so small that I was able to mount it to the back of my AV cabinet where all the wires could be hidden.
This is how tech should be, simple and easy!

Placed this next to the TV station to share the Internet connection between the xbox 360, Apple TV, Pioneer Receiver, and Sony Blu Ray Player. It worked great. Using a switch also allowed these devices to stream videos form computers on the rest of the network. This didn't work when I was using an extra wireless router which I had to do the same connection sharing. This is because the devices with the router had their own network where they couldn't access the computers in the house for streaming.Customer Review: Best Buy!

With the growing number of PCs and Laptops in my house I decided it was time to install a network. I need a cheap solution that what easy to install and required NO maintanence. The Netgear 5 port switch was the perfect buy for my solution. It sits quitely in the roof of my house with the server and has not failed me yet! It is incased in a hard steel shell making it very strong and reliable. If you're looking into setting up a home network I recommend you buy this switch as you cant go wrong!Customer Review: Solid Product

By solid product I mean in terms of performance AND the product itself. The unit itself is made of metal and with every room in the house wired this is the second FS105NA switch I have put on my network. I WAS using a cheap plastic switch but it had a 10MB throughput limit and since upgrading to this one the kids are much happier since their games and chat sessions are faster. If I had to add a THIRD unit I would definitely purchase another Netgear product.Customer Review: Does what it says it will for a good price

Ridiculously easy installation, works flawlessly, and is fairly priced. Just connect your modem to the router with one Ethernet cable and then you have four other ports to connect four other PCs, laptops, Macs, whatever. No software needed, just plug it in and you're done. If you need extra ports for your internet connection then I recommend this. The wall mount is pretty much just two screws which I haven't used yet, but when I do it too looks pretty simple.
