Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NETGEAR WGPS606 54 Mbps Wireless Print Server with 4-port Switch

Customer Review: Fills a unique role.
Summary: 5 Stars

Great device, great price. There are other print servers, but not many WiFi bridges, none in this price range. The WGPS606 allowed our XBox 360 and DVR/computer to connect to our WiFi network at 1/2 the cost of just the X360 WiFi adapter alone.

Set up was simple, the only tricky bit was first having to set the IP address of the setup computer to the correct subnet manually so it would see the switch for initial setup. I was using a Mac for setup, the windows software may do this automatically.

Customer Review: Awsome Print Server
Summary: 5 Stars

I have several pieces of equipment in my front room that needed an internet connection, and I did want to run ethernet cables all all through my house from my router in my bedroom. I had a friend recommend the Netgear WGPS606 wireless Print Server. So I took my buddy's suggestion and purchased the Netgear print server at a very good price at Amazon.com. I now have everything hooked up and working like a charm, and it is all wireless. I couldn't ask for better. It was not hard to hook up, and configure.

Works very well with setting up printers to work over an established network. It also works well as a 4-port switch to allow computers to connect to the internet and network groups for file & printer sharing, etc. This particular wireless print server is connected, via ethernet, to a HP color laserjet, and three other computers. The computers are able to connect to the established network to share files and all computer on the network, over 15 computers, can connect to the HP laserjet printer.

Customer Review: Netgear WGPS606 Print Server
Summary: 5 Stars

I am using this Print Server in order to "create" a wired
network cluster of several PCs, while allowing connection
to a remote wireless Netgear router that interconnects with
the Internet (Modem) and other wireless laptops.

A very good product. It does require some basic know how in
the configuration of more suffisticated netwrok other than
"using its defaults". Works well. Reliable.

Strongly recommedned not just as a Print-Server.

Customer Review: It just works
Summary: 5 Stars

The setup couldn't have been easier. I'm now sharing my printer with two Win32 wireless boxes and my Linux box, and managed to get my Linux box on my wireless network in the bargain, without the configuration hassle of 3rd-party wireless drivers and wpa_supplicant.

Also, people considering a wireless gaming adapter should turn here instead. For the same (or less!) money, you can get a far more useful product that achieves the same goals with less hassle.
